Video: A reminder of why Detroit’s broke

posted at 5:15 pm on July 18, 2013 by

Erika will have a post coming up later discussing the bankruptcy filing of Detroit, the first major American urban fiscal collapse in decades. Just to whet the appetite for Erika’s post and to present a little background on Detroit’s woes, I want to repost this prescient video from Steven Crowder from 2009. This collapse has been a long time coming:

Unrelated note: I will be taking the next few days off.

Isn’t San Francisco ran by lefties, and has it filed bankruptcy? Heck aren’t most cities considerably left, and yet they don’t all suffer Detroit’s fate.

To be fair to Teh SCOAMT, he didn’t define “back”.

Once demographics reach a certain point, the end is near.

Disincorporate Detroit, sell off the land to Omni Consumer Products, Inc., and have the nation’s first private city.

I’d buy that for a dollar…

I seriously saw some people on twitter trying to blame republicans for Detroit. LOL

Ed linked a Steven Crowder playlist… yesterday that playlist had 33 videos and Ed’s link went to the 1 about Detroit… but now the playlist has 34 videos and Ed’s link goes to the 1 about the GZ trial.

Here’s a link to Steven Crowder’s page on YouTube:

And here should be links to both the original Detroit video as well as a brand new one..

Nah, California’s got to one-up Detroit. The entire STATE is going bankrupt – and yes, it has been run by liberal proggies for decades, too.

I love Robocop. It seemed so goofy and over the top when it came out! Now it seems so “documetary.” Kind of scary how prescient it was.
