Followed/ chased a car for a total of 20 minutes on a bicycle, then the kidnapper stopped the car and let the girl go because he was afraid of being caught…by a 15 year old…on a bicycle.
Hmmmmmmmmm……

Didn’t catch a partial plate number while chasing the car?

tdarrington on July 15, 2013 at 10:26 AM

Are you insinuating that those boys kidnapped her?

h a p f a t on July 15, 2013 at 10:52 AM

Teen Boys: Hello, 911? We just saw a young kid get snatched off the street. Please send help!

911 Operator: Can you describe the car?

Teen Boys: Yeah, it’s a blah blah blah, whatever.

911 Operator: OK, we’ll send a car out there in an hour or two.

Teen Boys: We’re going to chase the kidnapper on our bicycles so he don’t get away…

911 Operator: I wouldn’t advise that you do that.

Nancy Grace: well, there’s the recording of the 911 call. The boys were clearly instructed NOT to follow the kidnapper. Proof positive that they acted with a depraved mind that day!

This is such a great story and I think far more representative of most kids rather than St. Trayvon.

I’m sure the child would confirm if the story is true.

“We were helping an old lady move a couch, but then we were like, nah, we’re going to go catch a pedophile/kidnapper instead.” What badasses.

CaliSwag on July 15, 2013 at 11:15 AM

He thought he was going to find her? HERO COMPLEX!!1!! ARREST HIM!!1!!1!!

Seriously, because the car was still in and driving around the neighborhood with the boys chasing him, it makes me think the perve lives in the area and didn’t want to lead the kids to his house. I suspect with the description of the car they gave, he’ll be arrested soon.

Good young men. Standing up for their community.

portlandon on July 15, 2013 at 11:39 AM

But did the kdnapper have skittles and iced tea, cuz well, if he did then he couldn’t have done anything wrong – and the teenagers were racists for profiling him….

h a p f a t on July 15, 2013 at 10:52 AM

No. Just restating the facts of the story as the young man told them. You clearly see there is probably a bit more to the story than he is telling if you jumped to the conclusion I was accusing him of something nefarious.

tdarrington on July 15, 2013 at 11:53 AM

Wannabe cops!!!!

Then what are you insinuating?

tdarrington on July 15, 2013 at 10:26 AM

I suppose it could be plausible the kidnapper a’feared that the kids would do exactly this. And thus, he thought it better to cut his losses.

Of course, one never knows in this day-and-age.

Anyone here ever tried chasing a car on a bike?

Anyone here ever tried outrunning a bike with a car?

THINK!!!

20 minutes … ROFLMAO.

Yeah, right.

gh on July 15, 2013 at 12:21 PM

One of the good things about modern communications is the guy was probably worried the kids were filming him. No way he’s getting away then.

WitchDoctor on July 15, 2013 at 12:22 PM

Wow, that’s just awesome. Well done, to some very fine young men.

Could be they were following, managing to keep up, and the guy didn’t realize until much later that he was being followed. “Hey, those two have been in my rear view mirror for quite some time now…”

CurtZHP on July 15, 2013 at 12:32 PM

wow. Neat kids.

pat on July 15, 2013 at 12:42 PM

Additional info not in the videos.

Police said later that the abductor took the little girl for ice cream, and that there were indications of an assault.

Good for the 2 kids. Self-appointed community watch members save the day. They are heroes.

CurtZHP on July 15, 2013 at 12:32 PM

Could be. Depends on how congested the traffic was. However, where I live, the blocks are straight, 1.25 miles and limit is ~ 40mph (60km/h). I don’t think a kid on a bike could keep me in sight for more than two minutes even if I were driving casually.

I lived in a small town as a kid so we did stupid things like trying to chase cars and speed limit was 25mph (pre-metric). Pretty much impossible to keep up for long.

Seems to be a pretty casual kidnapper, in any case.

If the story is true, then good for them. But there are definitely some details missing (as tdarrington suggested).

That seems to be the missing detail.

gh on July 15, 2013 at 12:55 PM

Wow. Kudos to the two boys and their heroic actions.

PatriotGal2257 on July 15, 2013 at 1:43 PM

Thank you for giving me hope for the world.

Grunt on July 15, 2013 at 5:17 PM

Good on those young men. All sarc aside, I’m sure the girl’s parents are thrilled to have her home, and grateful to the boys for their help. Hopefully they’ll catch the perv and ensure some measure of safety for the kids in that neighborhood and beyond.

I think he was exaggerating, and that’s fine.

Ronnie on July 15, 2013 at 7:44 PM

I’m so glad those young men saved that little girl. Pedo’s are such pieces of dung. Did they catch the bastard?

Conservchik on July 15, 2013 at 8:34 PM

he sounds like a stoner white dude, which instantly adds credibility. Cause you know he was on his bike for like 2 minutes and to him it felt like 20.

renalin on July 15, 2013 at 9:13 PM

We need more of these uplifting stories.

Young men (and women) who do these type of deeds need to have front-page coverage in our news rather than the daily garbage we get fed.

What gets promoted, gets emulated.
