Troopathon 2013 update: Steamers get a head start

And we’re off into the lead in Troopathon 2013!  It may not last long, but doggone it, we’re going to enjoy it while we can.  We kicked off the competition four days ago, and so far the Hot Air Steamers have raised $800, and Move America Forward has raised $2,230 overall.  We’ve got 40 more days to get to the $25,000 goal that will allow us to send thousands of care packages to men and women in our military stationed overseas.  Here’s the message from MAF, if you missed it earlier in the week:

Just a few hours ago, James became the Steamers’ largest donor with a $250 contribution, and he left this message:

“A challenge to other Hot Air veterans. We received these care packages when we went, let’s make sure they never stop.”

Want to join my team? Head over to the Steamers siteand sign up, embed the link or form into your blog, and let’s raise some cash!  If you want to donate instead, well, I’m going to make that even easier:

Let’s keep the momentum going!

It should be noted that while I am also a veteran, the James mentioned above is unfortunately not me. I’m unemployed and can’t afford to donate. I don’t want anyone giving me any credit I don’t deserve.

I donated and I’m a veteran. Good for James to top the challenge.

Those who can’t donate due to economic circumstances do not be ashamed. The world is an amazing place, and sometimes good things happen to good people if you have the ambition to pursue your dream.
