Re: Team huddle (AKA wagon-circling)

To further expand on the apparent wagon-circling taking place with this meeting of the ideologically-aligned commentators and the West Wing, the question has to be asked: Just where is Barack Obama getting this advice?  The DoJ snooping on the AP and James Rosen has even normally sympathetic journalists angry.  Now he’s going to bypass the White House press corps, which has been fed a steady stream of nonsense by Jay Carney to the point where reporters have to construct timelines to keep the White House’s “evolution” on what it knew about the IRS scandal straight.

If they think that sending out the ideologues to bypass the WH briefing room will make it easier for them to sell their message, the communications team is either desperate, delusional, or a little bit of both.

They are being dumb as well. Everyone now knows they are meeting.

“Ok everyone! Here are your talking points!” OR “Holy crap! Help us figure out some cool way out of this!”

I’m sure Barack doesn’t know. The first he’ll hear about it will be on the news sometime next week.

For those of us wondering how to reach normally apolitical or left leaners, I think the IRS scandal is it. It’s easy to understand and hard to explain away, and manifestly egregious. Plus the president is already on record as being outraged and the IRS has issued a pre-emptive apology in response to a planted question – also admitted to. Minimizing the scandal or attacking the victims won’t work this time – especially with the way they are pissing off the news media with two of the other scandals.

I thought so too. But so far, hatred for conservatives and tea partiers has doubled down, in spades. That I’m the communist or the socialist is now coming from the barely leaning.

Hey roaches weve got the flashlight on you and you cant hide. If we see ANYTHING resembling talking points coming from your keyboards in the next week then Congress needs to call you up to testify under oath as to whom you met with at the WH and why you are all saying the EXACT SAME THING. Bunch of leftist evil b a s t a r d s!

Maybe Obama is getting ready for the shit to hit the fan.

There is more coming. And none of it is good for him.

Where is the media going to go, become Republican? They’ll return to their comfy lap before too long.

Monte I think we go with a door 1 & 2 combo of desperate and delusional plus door 3, A FOOL!

Hugo? Hugo Chavez? Is that you? They said you was dead!

Will there be the smell of sulpher in the room…..

If Attkisson’s computer was actually hacked, by friends of the DOJ perhaps, she’s maybe not the only reporter to be hacked. This could be Watergate squared. Along with being rank amateurs at governing, the Obama Administration is fully of lefty kooks, who typically don’t have many ethics or many limits when it comes to punishing their enemies.

Why should he care? His polls aren’t going to budge, the left will blame the right for all of it, and the right has no political teeth right now.

The guy is more teflon than Clinton. I’ve never seen anything like it. Their brand of messaging worked, because even though public opinion is with conservatives on nearly every issue, they’ve still won the messaging war. I hate being the boo bird but these guys are literally saying black is white and up is down on nearly a daily basis and completely getting away with it.

Targeting not just the reporter, but his parents too?

Can they sue for something like this?

UnderstandingisPower on May 22, 2013 at 12:40 AM

Safe to say that no one from FOXnews will be in the WH’s closed door meeting with sympathetic MSM reps.

Also, I assume no one from any newspaper deemed to be right-of-center by the WH will be there.

Shouldn’t a list of the attendees of such a meeting be public record?

If they think that sending out the ideologues to bypass the WH briefing room will make it easier for them to sell their message, the communications team is either desperate, delusional, or a little bit of both.

You have more faith in the MSM “ideologically-aligned commentators” than I do. I don’t think they are angry that the WH and the DOJ are targeting FOXnews. They hate FOXnews. What they care about is the possibility the WH might target them or their sources. So the WH needs to wine and dine them and assure them they are still special.
