Video: Winter’s encore in Minnesota

Global warming. Global warming. Global warming.  Snow in … May.

One Three of these things just doesn’t belong:

Be honest. You didn’t really think this winter had heaved its last breath, did you?

Like the inevitable sequel to a long-running horror movie franchise, snow is making yet another return to the forecast. Only this time, the flakes are predicted to fly not in April, but in May.

A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area.

WCCO meteorologist Matt Brickman predicts that Wednesday morning’s rain will begin to turn into flakes by sometime mid-morning, eventually turning over to all snow by late afternoon.

Last night I sat on my deck for the first time this year, smoking a cigar and sipping a glass of merlot while reading a book on philosophy, and it was awesome. Tonight I’ll be pulling out the snowblower again. Spring, summer, and fall were fun while it lasted ….

No May flowers for you. New saying: April snow brings May snow?

Snowing pretty good here in the Denver area. We need it badly, so I’m not complaining. The glof clubs will just have to wait.

I guess I won’t be fishing in 2 1/2 weeks.

Steve Eggleston on May 1, 2013 at 11:13 AM

Meanwhile, summer’s hanging on for one more day in Milwaukee.

Tell me about it. I stained my fence yesterday – a lovely spring day in Utah. Snow storm this morning.

gwelf on May 1, 2013 at 11:16 AM

I know y’all don’t want to hear this but it is still mild in northern Florida. Which was even weirder since we had almost zero “cold” weather this winter. I liked it.

Cindy Munford on May 1, 2013 at 11:22 AM

We’re at 5 inches here in Vermillion SD

It’s all your fault ;-)

Near record highs in Nor Cal this week.

I should have checked local news to see if Al Gore was coming to or even flying over Utah.

gwelf on May 1, 2013 at 11:51 AM

It’s suppose to hit the 90s this Thurs/Fri in LA. Hate it.

smoking a cigar and sipping a glass of merlot

Yuck! Are you trying to ruin the taste of a perectly good cigar?
Man up and get some Bourbon or at least some whiskey.

LincolntheHun on May 1, 2013 at 12:08 PM

It takes no talent to make a merlot. Go back to cabernet or try a wine that takes talent and hard work to make: Pinot Noir.

The Sideways effect.

Anyway, I prefer blends.

Nick_Angel on May 1, 2013 at 1:01 PM

somewhere, Al Gore still has no comment.

BTW, have we passed his 5 year armageddon date?

BobMbx on May 1, 2013 at 1:34 PM

Snow here in Idaho Falls as well. Word is we’re having the second coldest spring on record.

When can we expect the global warming to show up?

Ace ODale on May 1, 2013 at 2:01 PM

I overheard someone refer to it as “Global weirding” I would put forth that does not apply specifically to weather.

Queen0fCups on May 1, 2013 at 2:10 PM

Gee, Ed, why are you even noting this? Isn’t this normal in Minnesota?

NavyMustang on May 1, 2013 at 2:14 PM

6-9″ predicted. Largest snowfall ever in May was 3″. The last measurable May snow in the TC (0.3″) was 1991.

Records be falling.

MNHawk on May 1, 2013 at 2:50 PM

No, no… see, your record cold is just a sign of global warming because, um–gee, I don’t know. The plankton off the coast of New Zealand or something.

At least, that’s what the Warmists will say.
