Feelgood video of the day: Man disarms robber carrying shotgun

posted at 2:38 pm on May 1, 2013 by

How smooth is it? Smooth enough to qualify as international news.

For the record, the official beta male response in a situation like this is spontaneous bowel movement.

If you stick a gun in someone’s face like that, you’re just inviting them to take it away from you.

Well, if robbers were smart they’d have real jobs. (Same for politicians.)

But Biden said a shotgun is all you need…!

More info here

Apparently the robber came back around and offered to trade the cellphone he’d stolen for the shotgun.

Most thugs are counting on one thing: fear. They are acting on the assumption that people will be afraid of them and respond accordingly.

Problem is, most thugs aren’t too bright.

For the victim, being situationally aware, being even mildly prepared and speed will help immensely; but most of all, not being fearful.

This is why there was another recent story of a convenience store owner who disarmed a robber and shot after the suspect when he had threatened to kill the victim. The victim got angry.

As a friend noted, most real-world close quarters situations happen quickly and in most situations you really don’t need to know a lot of fancy moves – in other words, you don’t have to have a black belt to be able to defend yourself.

The victim in this video did two things; he reacted swiftly, moving aside and grabbing the shotgun at the same time. The perp did two things too; he had the gun aimed so his balance and awareness were hindered, secondly, he was too close to the victim.

Stupid perp.

Wait! How could the bad guy not prevail while using the Left’s weapon of choice? That young man was lead astray by the Veep and former president Clinton.

“I hope they can get the license plate off of one of the cameras,” said Bonda. “If the police can improve the video enough to get the number off the plate, then that would be great.”

I don’t know for sure but doesn’t it seem the lack of back glass would be give away?

Far too much information and underestimation of the beta male survival instinct. I guess both actions could happen.

Which is why it’s always better to be predator than prey.

To quote my son, “about as sharp as a sack of wet mice.”

Looks like a Mossberg Maverick 88 with an 18.5″ barrel and pistol grip. I picked up the longer version at black friday for $175 last fall.

If the robber had an assault rifle he had filled the victim with 30 rounds from a weapon of war. We need to make sure we limit criminals to shotguns so more people can save their own lives. -Joe Biden

So when does this guy get arrested for having a gun without having undergone a background check?

malclave on May 1, 2013 at 6:22 PM

He should have called the police rather than playing Rambo vigilante.

OMG, but that was funny…even better than the video. Thankfully, I wasn’t taking a swig of my beer at the time.

Not buying it. Robber handed over the gun like he wanted to give it away. No struggle, just turned an ran. Plus the guy with the gun was chasing him? He had a gun. He could have stopped the robber without taking a step. Plus he never pointed the gun at the robber in the video.

Smells like a stunt to me.

Given the follow-up story, the juvenile with the shotgun “borrowed” a relative’s car. The relative reported the car damage to authorities.

One wonders whether the relative might not have been one of the perps, but I’m sure the teenager — who apparently has done quite a few robberies — will eventually squeal and to the identity of the other perp.
