Boston police have identified the two men as suspects in a string of violent incidents outside of Boston as Mike Mulugeta and Sunil Tripathi. The Boston Globe is reporting that the men are the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, and one of them is in custody while the other remains on the loose. The FBI has not confirmed the names. Tripathi, 22, is a missing Brown University student who disappeared on March 16. The FBI joined the search of him on March 25. The naming of the suspects comes after a string of incidents near MIT’s campus in Cambridge, Mass., that left one MIT police officer dead. At one point at least 25 gunshots heard in the span on a minute or two.
Update (AP): Multiple people, including Ace, who were listening to the scanner last night say PD did indeed mention Tripathi’s name at some point, but obviously the cops were wrong. The suspects are the Tsarnaev brothers. Or were: Tamerlan Tsarnaev is dead.
