This is almost certainly the only non-Fox program on cable news where you’ll see this point made, so enjoy the moment.

Oh, that would be too much to ask for, having these imbeciles actually learning the nomenclature of that which they deem to know so much about.

fourdeucer on April 5, 2013 at 2:26 PM

Behold Jake Tapper. He is one of the last members of the species The Press That Still Questions Government Run By Leftists.

Bitter Clinger on April 5, 2013 at 2:27 PM

We do need more gun laws.

Apparently someone in Colorado has created a gun that shoots entire magazines like a bullet. We need state protection from such madness.

gwelf on April 5, 2013 at 2:28 PM

Ha, that was awesome, Jake.

Though also sad – sad that it even had to be said and pointed out to begin with.

MikeknaJ on April 5, 2013 at 2:29 PM

The Bloomberg clip in particular… *facepalm*

MikeknaJ on April 5, 2013 at 2:30 PM

I’d rather that they didn’t. Better for them to ban all automatic weapons. lol!

Blake on April 5, 2013 at 2:34 PM

“Pffffft! We don’t need no education! We just need some gun control.”

- Barack Obama and Nanny Doomberg

Resist We Much on April 5, 2013 at 2:41 PM

Their willful ignorance is proof of the desire to ban all firearms. If your goal is to eliminate all versions of something, why bother to learn its intricacies? It’s all the same to you. The only reason the gun-banners attempt to make these distinctions is because they’re forced to do it incrementally.

RadClown on April 5, 2013 at 2:48 PM

When they fill a 32oz soda they add more sugar to the cup than when one has 16 oz cup. So you get less sugar when you have two cups of 16oz over one 32oz cup so ban the cups over 16oz and the people will get less sugar.

Plan:

1) Get a blood sample of Jake Tapper.

2) Clone Jake Tapper.

3) Resume with respectable media made of Jake Tappers.

Nethicus on April 5, 2013 at 2:50 PM

Good old Tapper. I wonder if he’ll try to teach Obama how to shoot skeet next.

DTTS on April 5, 2013 at 2:51 PM

The gun control crowd is a combination of those who know absolutely nothing about the subject matter, and those who know but are lying through their teeth in order to manipulate the masses.

Not sure which group Obama falls into.

That’s a good plan.

These guys have got to be lying right? They can’t really be that thick, can they? It’s not a difficult concept to grasp.

forest on April 5, 2013 at 3:06 PM

They can take Rep. DeGette to school with them. She doesn’t know squat about guns, either, and she’s not even blond, no offense to real blonds.

Kissmygrits on April 5, 2013 at 3:08 PM

Ah, Jake Tapper, that right wing hack.

(who’s worked for Democratic politicians, the Brady anti-gun people, and married a Planned Parenthood exec)

I think knowing that he’s a dyed in the wool liberal makes the job he does all the more impressive.

LukeinNE on April 5, 2013 at 3:10 PM

What’s a matter with Jake? He doesn’t play golf?

The five stages of good grief!

1) Denial Everything’s fine, there’s no way anybody with any sense will go for that.

2) Anger What the heck? Those dirty traitorous politicians!

3) Bargaining Ok, we’ll give you higher taxes if you promise to cut spending in the future.

4) DepressionWhy does this keep happening to me? I can’t seem to stop the statists.

5) AcceptanceLet it burn.

Fenris on April 5, 2013 at 4:03 PM

You have to ban it to find out what it is.

redzap on April 5, 2013 at 4:04 PM

You really should embed all your videos. I had to go to Mediaite to see the vid. Yuck, I feel like I need a bath.

Can I say both?

Unfortunately they’re using how they look, not how they function to determine what to ban.

jawkneemusic on April 5, 2013 at 4:07 PM

This show is sure better than the one I watched, where “salt is dangerous” was the Lead Story!

Sure it’s a good story, but who’s watching? Jay Carney is sooo happy he’s gone.

PattyJ on April 5, 2013 at 4:14 PM

Makes you wonder how someone so stupid on basics got as rich as they did.

GarandFan on April 5, 2013 at 6:01 PM

I love his expression at the end. He’s exasperated with these amateurs.

You have to understand the mindset at work.

The anti-gun liberal elite’ are also the anti-military liberal elite, and the “green” liberal elite, etc. You may have noticed, they are ignorant of those subjects as well. (Referring to Navy destroyers as “battleships”, insisting that nuclear reactors can blow up like fission bombs, etc.)

The reason for this is their self-assumed moral and ethical superiority. About 500 or so years ago, a cardinal of the Catholic Church refused to look through Galileo’s telescope to see the moons of Jupiter. Why? Because his interpretation of Scripture told him there was no such thing, and he wasn’t bout to let facts interfere with his dogmas.

It’s the same phenomenon at work. They are on a higher moral plane, and any actual knowledge of that which they regard as evil would sully their superior consciousness. All they know, or need to know, is that they hate it, and it therefore must be destroyed to create their Utopia.

And oh yes, anyone who does not share their “enlightenment” must also be destroyed, sooner or later. Because their Utopia cannot tolerate opinions contrary to their own. Keep in mind what the Church tried to do to Galileo, and what they absolutely did do to Giordano Bruno. And what Robespierre, Talleyrand, Marat & Co. did to anyone they suspected of not agreeing with them. And the Nazis, and Mao’s Red Guards, and on, and on, and on. It’s the same mindset at work. “Be enlightened like us- or die.

When gun-ban fanatics ask me why I won’t accept their version of “reasonable controls”, I tend to say something like this;

Throughout history, people on your side of the aisle have insisted that you are better, wiser, more moral, more sensitive, and just plain superior to all of the rest of us. And when you are not in power, if you don’t get your way, you invariably resort to violence, mostly against innocent bystanders. When you are in power, you use the threat of violence to cow everyone else into obedience.

The people running things right now are the leftovers of your Vietnam antiwar movement, who are directly responsible for the deaths of over a million people in Southeast Asia as a result of the Communist victory you helped engineer in the name of “peace”. Here in this country, you didn’t just protest; you bombed, robbed, and killed in the name of “peace”. You dreamed of herding 25 million Americans into death camps after your “triumph”, which thank G-d you never actually achieved.

More recently, you were all screaming “If our Messiah isn’t re-elected, we’re gonna RIOT!!!- and make the rest of us pay for our “lack of enlightenment”.

And oh yes, your environmental schemes will only work if you are willing to kill off about ninety percent of humanity. Which, to judge from your rhetoric (Voluntary Human Extinction Movement, etc.) you are absolutely willing to try.

And you want us to render ourselves defenseless. Against you.

Sorry. I’m not that big a damned fool.

They’re all lying. On purpose. They would say that AR-15′s all have devices which automatically point the barrel at babies’ heads if they thought they could get away with it.

TexasDan on April 5, 2013 at 9:37 PM

First, we need to take back the language and the message. The Second Amendment is NOT about hunters and sportsmen. It is about the free citizens of this country being able to protect themselves from an all powerful and tyrannical centralized government. Just like the founders wanted it to be.

Yes, and if you want to regulate business and the economy, maybe first you should learn how to run a lemonade stand.

I think, that in the spirit of all this, the Republicans should propose a ban on all automatic weapons for civilians, period, and say that anything else would be too intrusive.

I know, the Democrats will scream that it’s already on the books, but at least that would FORCE them to display some honesty and remove the little ploy they use of mis-informing the low information voter who doesn’t really have a clue what this is all about.

bflat879 on April 6, 2013 at 9:33 PM

Wow, where to begin? So many great and spot-on comments. That said, we have to take the offense on the narrative, and I’m not sure that’s possible right now. WE know the difference between and fully and semi-automatic weapon; we know that criminals will not respect the law; we know that mentally imbalanced people won’t / don’t know how to respect the law. The biggest problem I have with “all things government” is that, for some reason, I am not, as an individual and a citizen of the United States of America, capable of making reasoned decisions concerning my personal and family safety. YET, somehow, the COLLECTIVE wisdom of a large group of individuals elected to office is able to make those judgments. Many of these representatives are sincerely committed to their respective beliefs. BUT that doesn’t make them right. They are still a bunch of individuals, just like us. Why does electability suddenly give them better insight? Most of them have shown an abysmal lack of knowledge of, and workings of, firearms.
I understand the emotional reaction to horrendous events like Sandy Hook, Columbine, and others, but, at some point, we need to look at SOLUTIONS, not knee jerk reactions that don’t solve anything.
