How do they get the pope clothes to fit so quickly?

Yes. There are three different sized sets of clothing and six different pairs of shoes prepared for when a new Pope is selected. The same business has handled Papal vestments for a couple hundred years, IIRC. Whether they have a tailor on hand to make adjustments in the hour between the white smoke and “Habemus Papam,” I don’t know. If not then I expect overnight they measure and bridge the gap from “close enough” to a perfect fit before the next day’s morning Mass and varied appearances. When you have a lock on the biggest contract in the world, you gotta do your job right….
