Thuggery: Ohio union intimidates “scabs” by distributing personal information

posted at 3:02 pm on March 8, 2013 by

Behold, the appalling tactics of an Ohio teachers union.  They’re threatening people for The Children, you must understand:

The teachers strike is now in its fourth day and the ramifications of it are being felt outside of Strongsville. “I got a letter about four in the afternoon Wednesday,” said Dan Dubecky, of Parma. Dubecky was surprised to see a pink letter in his door. “It starts off by saying, ‘Do you know a scab lives in your neighborhood?’ It gives the gentleman’s name, his address, his telephone number, personal information. And then it says, ‘Why is he a scab?’ And it talks about him crossing the picket line in Strongsville,” said Dubecky. Right now, nearly 400 teachers and school employees are on strike. “When I walked down my street, it looks like everybody has one,” said Dubecky of the flyers.

Here’s what was plastered throughout the neighborhoods of substitute teachers who committed the grave infraction of crossing picket lines to…teach kids (via Third Base Politics):

Nice house you have there, scab… Can you imagine how union bosses would behave if prospective members were denied access to a secret ballot?  I can.  This, of course, is the desired outcome of our president and his loathsome Big Labor allies.  Parting thought:  How quickly would Card Check legislation get a vote in a newly Democrat-held House in 2015?  The midterms matter.

UPDATE – I’m told on Twitter that the local union is claiming it has nothing to do with this action, which they’re blaming on a “concerned parent.”  Sure.  According to the local Fox affiliate, the Strongsville Education Association says they are “not aware” of the scab flier, but they hasten to point out that teachers’ cars are getting egged.  Right, because these are the typical behavioral patterns of average taxpayers, not high-minded Leftists.

I’d take the “scab” a plate of cookies and offer to form a watch outside his/her house.

Part of the same teacher’s strike…

Second Strongsville teacher arrested during ongoing strike

STRONGSVILLE- A second teacher in two days has been arrested, the Strongsville Police Department said in a release.

Police say a Brunswick Hills man, who’s listed as a coach at Strongsville High School, “reportedly drove his vehicle in a reckless manner directed at a van transporting school employees” to Kinsner Elementary School on Waterford Parkway around 7:55 a.m. March 7.

According to the call narrative, the man cut off a white van carrying substitutes to the school with his truck, and then tried to stop it.

Thanks to the incestuous union of the godless democrats and the commie scum unions, all replacement worker names phone numbers and addresses must be provided to the union. nice labor laws we have in this wrecked country.

I’d send the union a letter.

“Do you know an armed citizen lives next door to the scab? Or is it two doors down? Across the street? I guess you’d better be careful in that neighborhood.”

Then I’d find some of their personal data (name, address, SSN) and leave it on a park bench.

I think a few bullet-riddled gun-range silhouettes with photos of certain union members on certain doors would be in order. Make no mistake, your lives are in danger and you have every right to threaten theirs.

“You have in your neighborhood a greedy, self-centered teacher who is refusing to teach your kids. Why is he/she on strike and refusing to teach?”

From Framingham MA, now having apologized for his error, the head of the Framingham Teachers union wanted rank and file to harass the families including children of the School Board Members.

As contract talks drag on, the Framingham teachers union plans to target individual School Committee members to push for a deal.

The latest work action plan, outlined in a recent letter from Framingham Teachers Association President Sam Miskin to members, asks teachers to provide specific information about committee members’ – and their families’ – everyday lives. An accompanying survey in the newsletter allows users to enter where board members go to church, where their spouses are employed, and what schools their children attend.
