Looks a lot like Rand Paul in the Senate a couple of days ago.

Wow.
Go here for even more awesome pictures of the event.
cozmo on March 8, 2013 at 10:17 AM
Heh.
I’m just glad neither of them was directed at me.

Thank you MKH and Cozmo!
I love stuff like this…
Don’t we live in an amazing Galaxy!
Fallon:
Yeah! We could adopt it as our signature signature

Wow. That is gorgeous and awe inspiring.

Even the sun thought Rand was awesome.
CurtZHP on March 8, 2013 at 10:47 AM
I had to find NASA’s site with this photo. It’s awesome.

This deserves the “DUDE!” label on the front page.
blammm on March 8, 2013 at 10:53 AM
Wow. Earth is just a nugget in comparison.
Bishop on March 8, 2013 at 11:17 AM
If that isn’t proof that the sun has just a tiny bit more impact on Earth’s temperature than man.
I feel so insignificant
Ditkaca on March 8, 2013 at 11:32 AM
Nobody does it quite like Mother nature.
The uptick in solar winds alone from an event like this on precisely the right location on the sun is enough to seriously disrupt communications on earth. Chew on that.
gryphon202 on March 8, 2013 at 12:15 PM
How exactly can anyone look at a photo like that and then maintain that man, and things like the exhaust from our cars, are what controls the climate?

NASA captures plasma eruption on the sun; rising CO2 levels blamed

You might as well ask how liberals can believe bureaucrats are trustworthy, all evidence to the contrary.
gryphon202 on March 8, 2013 at 12:47 PM
EPA to write new regulation prohibiting plasma eruptions in order to slow down global warming.

Tru dat.
I look at that amazing photo and wonder how anyone can deny Intelligent Design behind the creation of the universe.

As a big astronomy geek, thanks for the pic, MKH.
It turns out we are in a very sweet spot in the galaxy.
We are here:
Based on data from the Keppler Space Telescope (2700 potential planets identified so far), there are an estimated 1 trillion planets in the galaxy.
Extrapolating from that, the latest estimate for advanced civilizations in the galaxy is….1 million.

I think that’s the sun sticking its tongue out at Algore in disgust at his arrogance at thinking he could do something about it.
NOMOBO on March 8, 2013 at 4:00 PM
So, when’s the aurora borealis going to occur?

Wow! Global Warming must be more pernicious than we thought! It’s affecting the sun! Carbon tax NOW! /
