This is a story of technology and medical science, and a sports story, too …. but those are only small components in a larger story of courage, tenacity, and love. Daniel “Doc” Jacobs made history by being among the first Navy amputees restored to active duty, and now he wants to fulfill his dream of making another roster entirely. The Los Angeles Dodgers — my team, no less — gave Doc an opportunity to win a spot on the team, and he made the most of it:
