Beyonce admits: I decided to “sing along”

posted at 3:48 pm on January 31, 2013 by

Beyonce isn’t fully admitting an all out “lip syncing” of the National Anthem during President Obama’s second inauguration but she is admitting to “singing along” to a pre-recorded track. The Today Show tweeted a quote from the Queen B herself earlier today.

Thank you Beyonce.

Without *heavy* production a lot of these people simply cannot sing.

Without computers Taylor Swift sounds like a young boy being circumcised with a chainsaw and Beyonce sounds like a drunk Louis Armstrong.

Our long, national nightmare is finally over.

rbj on January 31, 2013 at 4:21 PM

I have heard that it is hard on the vocal chords in that cold weather. Why won’t she just say that, and be done with it. A little honest admission of imperfection would be refreshing.

Beyonce walked out to her Super Bowl press conference and just did a live, acapella rendition of the National Anthem. Dear Haters, you can go somewhere!

I wonder what she thinks of her white masters in the democrat run senate that refuse to write and pass a budget for nearly four years?

Actually, she exhibited serious problems with pitch and rhythm in that performance. And so what if she “belts it out” after an NFL interview? She choked when mattered. How many times will she have an opportunity to sing for her favorite president?

I don’t know anything about Beyonce other than that she’s mentioned in entertainment rags a lot, so have no opinion on her music or her talent. I also never watch inauguration events (so have no idea how they’re set up), but I do know that sound production at live venues is frequently atrocious. I don’t blame her for not taking the chance.

Dear Haters…

libfreeordie on January 31, 2013 at 4:32 PM

Haters? Oh, please. How thin-skinned are you?

She had one of the biggest gigs in the Free World (which is now apparently led by Hong Kong). She was invited to sing at a presidential inauguration.

Hate? No, pity and, now, indifference. She blew it, meh. Listen and weep. That’s how it’s done. Live.

I’m always on the look-out for pointing out a hypocrite child-molester like professor libefreeordeathtomediahacks. Ten years from now he’ll be arguing for no specific age of consent and parents having no right to stop pre-pubescent boys from going on dates with older men.

Anyway, I hope your life has had some sunshine back in it in the new year.

Awesome. What I find interesting about the left is how they claim to love this country like any other patriot yet day after day they activity try to destroy everything that made us the greatest nation on God’s green earth.

jawkneemusic on January 31, 2013 at 10:06 PM

I don’t really care if she sang live or not. It’s the trying to hide the truth that’s annoying.

And here’s an awesome Faith Hill version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSZx0Xu9j6I.

I don’t know if you know this, but that one was pre-recorded, too.

I thought this live anthem performance by Beyonce was well-sung. Are there better singers out there? Certainly. But there are a lot worse.

What really bothered me is the way she finished by smirking and asking, “any questions?” The Star-Spangled Banner is a hymn. It’s about America, it’s not about you, Beyonce.
