Nice fiction, but the union attorney’s are every bit the true believer the BA’s are, but the BA’s are paid more. It’s only the members and the employers who get screwed.

Michigan right to work was nice, but health care worker organization is on the way.

Nurses are already unionized aren’t they? Anyway, as Obamacare grinds through the system, doctors will unionize too. Why work long hours, nights and weekends when your gov’t reimbursement is cut to almost nothing?

Thats is HOW it is supposed to be. In fact, there are still a few unions that are like that. Those are the ones you never see in the news.

Take the Millwrights. Dudes do one heck of a job in quality of work. You pay for it of course, but the job gets done right.
They do exactly what you say unions should do. They train all people who WANT to be in the union. They weed out the slackers and such.

Then there is my union. We used to fine workers for doing other peoples work, then again, there was usually no need for another person to another persons work because that person was more than capable to do said job. Not so much anymore.

Our union got infested with the idiots out of Madison. Right there should say it all.

Public sector unions exist to rape taxpayers and elect more Democrats. CA public workers get massive pensions and highly subsidized health care that private sector workers could only dream of. They don’t exist to protect workers from unsafe conditions or any other noble purpose. They are there to fleece everyone else and elect people who enable the continued fleecing. Can’t wait till CA finally goes belly up for good.

What people should remember is that unions don’t actually negotiate jack. Lawyers do. Lawyers who are decidedly not union employees or members and who are remunerated far more lavishly than even the Trumkas of this world.

We have a friend who is a union trade rep. IDK what it’s called.
But this union functions as a quality control for hirees for employers basically.
They contract agreements for certain types of jobs as to the hourly pay & then find individuals they can qualify by training them & making them test etc.
The result is a high quality worker a company can count on.
In return, the worker gets better wages & benefits.
This to me is how a union should operate.
Not holding companies hostage with the help of Federal & State governments to loot the hell out them until they go bankrupt.
