Of course, they try to obfuscate by accusing the creator of the graph of … obfuscation, since he doesn’t address handguns.

But then, they’re not trying to ban handguns. they’re trying to ban rifles. Just because that’s insanely useless is not the fault of the person who created the graphic. In fact, the entire point of the graphic is to point out just how useless banning rifles is.

And having done that truthfully and to the point, they want to act like the graphic is misleading for not talking about handguns.

Still, for Politifact, this is pretty good. Much better than I expected.

Not sure why you would want to defend people saying the wrong thing, especially since it only emboldens the agendalogues.

It’s generally a place gun control advocates don’t want to go, since (a) the SCOTUS had declared constitutional the weapon that kills most people, and (b) the handgun is the fallback “we don’t intend to ban that; see, we’re reasonable” weapon for gun control advocates.

But if it’s NOT reasonable to ban rifles and not handguns, their proposal is seen to be preposterous.

The rifle/handgun issue is like the old joke about the guy who was looking for what he lost under the streetlight “because the light’s better here,” even though he lost it further down the street in the dark.

I’m glad to see that the tactics of the Left/Libbie/Proggie/Deluded are now being turned around used against them. Seems only fair that their playbook becomes the playbook of their opponents.

Time to quit playing Calvinball with them and letting them make up all the rules as they go along.

I wouldn’t call it selective use of data. People are calling for bans on “Assault Rifles”. The “Let’s ban handguns crowd” aren’t the ones getting all the press right now.
