Mayor Of Gun Violence Capitol Of America Calls For, Wait For It, More Gun Laws

posted at 5:48 pm on January 17, 2013 by

Never mind the fact that Chicago has some of the stricter set of gun laws in the nation. Mayor Rahm thinks the solution to the 500 gun murders in America’s deadliest city is more gun laws, I guess in order to make illegal weapons even more illegal, or something.

I seem to remember an old saying about the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Know what we need? Double secret probation gun laws.

Have an epidemic of illegitimate children? You need more abortions!
Have a crime wave? You need more gun control!

Liberal logic at its best, ladies and gentlemen – it never fails to get innocent people killed.

I’ve seen a lot of Animal House references today, thanks to Manti Te’o and his girlfriend, Fawn Liebowitz.

I gave my love a cherry
That had no stone
I gave my love a chicken
That had no bone
I told my love a story
That had no end
I gave my love a baby
With no crying.

How can there be a cherry
That has no stone?
And how can there be a chicken
That has no bone?
And how can there be a story
That has no end?
And how can there be a baby
With no crying?

A cherry when it’s blooming
It has no stone
A chicken when in the shell
It has no bone
The story of how I love you
It has no end
A baby when it’s sleeping
It’s no crying.

Unless bans are nation-wide, it will do nothing. Once a gun is purchased and put into the nation’s inventory, it doesn’t respect state borders. A background check doesn’t tell you who is going to have a breakdown and go postal tomorrow. Nor does it tell you who is going to steal that gun and use it next week. And the magazine limits are pointless too, since even 10 rounds is enough to kill 10 people at point blank range. And 10 victims is a mass killings last time I checked. And if he needs more, slap in another magazine and kill 10 others. So that is pointless as well.

These are nonsense feel-good measures designed to make Obama look like he is doing something. The reality is until the US adopts universal stringent gun legislation, similar to Canada, the US will continue to be the murder capital of the civilized world.

Not that this bothers most Americans. It doesn’t.

Even THEN, frankly, would it even make a dent in the number of democratic-voting gangsters running around with everything from pistols to Uzis?

Even if you have no respect for the 2nd, a gun ban without harsh laws for gun misuse is only fooling yourself.

I think capitol refers to an edifice or building and capital is the word that should be used….I sit ready to be corrected:)

That must explain why gun bans in Britain and Jamaica were followed by increases in gun crime, because… they’re islands, so… the crime guns came from… merpeople?

The only gun law Chicago needs is a law requiring every adult to carry a gun in public.

People only care about gun crime if there are cute white kids involved.

There are black and brown people (some kids) mowing each other down in most major metros. They, unsurprisingly, do not legally purchase their guns.

No one gives a rat’s ass about them apparently, including Mayor Tiny Dancer.

You want racism? They got it.

Check your facts chump….the US is far from that odious position. Seems that jolly old Britain holds that title. Um…gee…didn’t they ban guns too back in ’96?

Twana on January 17, 2013 at 8:51 PM

Maybe they need to offer new Obama iPhones for each gun turned in. /

I don’t care how much money you throw at the problem, or how many laws you enact, until their “gansta” culture, multiple baby-daddies and the giant chip on their shoulders goes away – things aren’t improving.

Of course if you could ask Derrion Albert, he’d tell you guns aren’t the only problem.

I read a first-hand account of a street/youth minister where preteenage children were being charged with MURDER. He had some blistering accusations of attempts to fix rampant youthful deviancy with things like midnight basketball.

Rahm’s ride is a caravan of three black SUV’s. They come with squealing tires and screeching brakes up to City Hall in the morning and the little dancer jumps out and is immediately surrounded by several black detectives, each at least a foot and a half taller than he is. He looks like he’s walking in a black forest.

His arrogant little turdler kid gets ferried around by two police detectives to school, to the movies, to basketball games.

Livin’ the life of the 1%. Hey, all you idiot 99 percenters who voted for this asshole and his boss, wake up!

Gun laws don’t work. Otherwise Sandy Hook, Aurora Theater, and other such incidents would never have happened.

Laws don’t prevent squadoosh. Laws only outline the consequences for engaging in a prescribed behavior. But they don’t stop anything.

Disarming good and decent people has never worked. Chicago is prime example #1 of that failure.

But then, Liberals think “If we just tweak it a little bit, it will work!” and of course, expect unicorn farts to solve world energy issues.

Murder capital of the world? What kind of nonsense are you peddling. The United States ranks 108th in terms of murder rates in the world.

That means there are 107 other countries that are even more of the murder capital of the world?

Well, that clearly shows that the 107 countries aren’t civilized. Therefore, the US is the murder capital of the civilized world.

Just a reminder:

Breitbart News has confirmed that The University of Chicago Laboratory School, where Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel sends his children, is protected by an armed, on-duty police officer.

University of Chicago Police public information personnel informed Breitbart News that there is at least one armed officer on duty a the school everyday and has been for “several years.”

Emanuel blasted NRA spokesman Wayne LaPierre after he proposed adding armed officers to schools across the country last week in response to the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.

A written statement from Mayor Emanuel said:

It’s outrageous and unsettling that the NRA would choose to address gun violence not by taking assault weapons off our streets, but by adding more guns to our schools… That is not the right answer for our society, our schools and most importantly our children.

People across this country, from small towns to big cities, are united and ready to pass common-sense gun control legislation. The time has come for the NRA to get on board or get out of the way.

Given his staunch opposition to the suggestions made by the NRA to protect America’s children, will Mayor Emanuel now take the lead on ending the security procedures in place at his own children’s school?

ExpressoBold on January 17, 2013 at 6:24 PM

You can. Liberals brains are clogged with emotion. In many cases it truly is “the thought that counts”. It’s not that they are stupid, although I’m hard pressed to give an example of a liberal idea that is smart, it’s that they can’t get past their knee-jerk emotional reaction to think coherently on a subject. No matter what they must feel good about themselves and putting laws in place good or bad makes them feel good.

Dr. Frank Enstine on January 18, 2013 at 8:38 AM

It’s too bad they don’t have an actual functioning democracy in Chicago. They could throw these useless idiots out and try some real solutions to their problems.

claudius on January 18, 2013 at 9:17 AM

The reality is until the US adopts universal stringent gun legislation, similar to Canada, the US will continue to be the murder capital of the civilized world.

A close friend of mine is a retired police officer with 40 years of honorable service as a sheriff’s deputy in upstate Minnesota. After retiring he moved to Puerto Rico and went to present his service weapon to get it licensed. It took him two years. Two years of fighting, scraping, filling out reams of paperwork, and paying $500 in “maintenance fees” on that weapon just to get it back. And then they “lost” the paperwork and he had to go fill it out again.

Point? Most islands in the Caribbean have some of the strictest gun laws in the world. It is for all intents and purposes illegal to own a weapon in Puerto Rico, and yet we are in a longterm bloodbath where innocent people are mowed down in gun violence. Last year we had multiple mass shootings, including in restaurants and shopping malls, where people as young as three years old died. In fact, one of the children who died in Newton was in that very school because her family had fled the gun violence here months before. We had FOUR times the murder rate of the USA, and in fact, last year, we made up almost 5% of the U.S. murder rate. Almost all of that was gun violence. And guns are very, very illegal here.

So what is the difference between us and Canada? Why doesn’t gun control work here? I would venture to guess it’s a function of population (there’s a lot more people per square mile) and opportunity (access to the U.S. drug market). The trouble with you gun control people is that you always point to best-case scenarios of gun control without considering that the same results may not be true everywhere. Some places good people need guns. For quiet backwaters like Canada, it might be another story. For instance, right next door in the Dominican Republic, there is the same level of gun control we have here, but there aren’t armed thugs running around killing people in cold blood. Why not? Is it because of gun control or is it because it doesn’t make sense to run drugs to a country where people make two bucks a day and there’s no easy way to get them into the States?

FIFY.
Lots of countries have tried total gun bans – and they still have gun crime.
Even if the US banned ALL guns entirely, gun runners would set up shop in Mexico (which already has stricter gun control than the US – and a higher gun crime rate) and ship the guns across the border in the tons of cocaine and MJ that already get into the US very easily.

Big governments don’t enact gun laws to prevent murders … they enact gun laws to protect big government. The bigger and more powerful governments become the more their concerns are protecting government.
