What does a yelling snake sound like?

I volunteer at the local natural history museum and one of my favorite things to do is walk through the main hall holding our ball python. He’s really a very sweet snake, and when I take him out of his cage to go show him off he just calmly wraps himself around my wrist and stays there, unconcerned by all the people admiring him or shrieking. (Ball pythons are small pythons; he’s just two and a half feet long.) When I take him back to his home, it’s not easy to get him off my arm; he attaches himself very snugly, though not so snugly as to cut off my circulation! Anyway, based on my experiences with our ball python, I can picture a similar snake holding fast to a plane in flight.

Radjah do snakes have moods and emotions like higher mammals?

Ted Torgerson on January 11, 2013 at 11:33 AM

Unfortunately DONT TREAD ON ME didn’t seem to help the little feller at 23,000 feet.

We’re looking for places to put our sympathy, because the actions of so many stupid people have displaced it from our fellow human beings.

Personally I’d take a purring cat over a snake, but…
