With America’s drug war having failed, what’s a bored DEA agent to do with his time?

So this is why they’re so interested in Colombia. The detail about the official DEA Blackberries is a nice touch.

Apply for a job that’s useful and productive?

Unemployment?

Get another career?

The “drug war” is and has always been illegal, and the ultimate example of how far our government has strayed from acting legally within the Constitution.

If Prohibition required a Constitutional Amendment for the federal government to enact a ban on alcohol, where is the one that empowered it to enact Prohibition on drugs? Where is the Amendment that even gives Washington any authority to have anything to do with this?

Prepare a safe place for his family as far away from major population centers as possible, especially those that vote liberal/liberaltarian?

They’ll be too stoned to look up his location.

I am in favor of drug legalization, though I certainly DO NOT agree with their consumption and would rather they be banned… Just do it legally via the Constitutional Amendment. The current situation is illegal as hell and has done more to erode civil liberties since, well, FDR.

Drugs can be legal only if the welfare state doesn’t exist, because personal responsibility is the only check and balance on drug use. IE: you become an addict and wreck your life, I don’t have to pay taxes to support you.
