Meet the new Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn

posted at 12:32 pm on December 31, 2012 by

Allegedly.

The privileged daughter of a prominent city doctor, and her boyfriend — a Harvard grad and Occupy Wall Street activist — have been busted for allegedly having a cache of weapons and a bombmaking explosive in their Greenwich Village apartment.

Morgan Gliedman — who is nine-months pregnant — and her baby daddy, Aaron Greene, 31, also had instructions on making bombs, including a stack of papers with a cover sheet titled, “The Terrorist Encyclopedia,’’ sources told The Post yesterday.

People who know Greene say his political views are “extreme,” the sources said.

Their arsenal included a 12-gauge shotgun, “a commercial replica of a grenade launcher,” and enough HTMD to force the cops to evacuate several buildings nearby. Oh, and they also found nine high-capacity magazines, which is odd because New York City has very strict gun laws. Better make those laws stricter now, huh?

You’re already thinking about the double standard on how the media would cover this if they were tea partiers so I’ll simply note it and move on. Exit question: Which college or university will be the first to offer Greene a tenured professorship once he’s done his time?

I noticed only the Post was highlighting this story — insert the obligatory “Suppose a pair of Tea Party supporters had been caught with this much of an arsenal in their home?” hypothetical here about how wild the media coverage would be right now in that scenario, especially when you consider the timing of the arrest and the fact that one-million people will be out and about in Times Square tonight.

As it is, the story goes against the narrative that only right-wing gun nuts and crazy people are a threat to society with weapons — certainly the beloved and mild-mannered Occupy Wall Street types would never think of doing something like this, especially with Barack Obama in the White House. So outside of the Post, don’t expect much of a follow-up at all on this from the rest of the media (and the media of 42 years ago also would have been reluctant to report on the Dohrn incident, except that unlike the police here simply finding the weapons in the Ninth Street townhouse, Bernadene’s bomb-making buddies made their plans impossible for the media to ignore because they blew up their 11th Street townhouse).

Another case of wealthy Jew guilt? I know Roger Simon of PJTV and David Horowitz of the Freedom center have addressed this but it’s still amazing how often you see this.

Maybe they’re hipsters that wanted to use the weapons and explosives ironically.

the weather underdouches who offed themselves with their own bomb making crap in march of 1970 – also in greenwich village.

Gliedman, 27, is a nine-month pregnant Dalton grad and the daughter of top doctor Paul Gliedman and realtor Susyn Schops Gliedman.

“Baby daddy” Aaron Greene is 31, a graduate from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government

Seven grams of HMYD? Meh, right?

HMTD is a primary explosive, in other words it is used to initiate other explosives. C4 plastic explosive will simply burn if lit on fire, it requires a shock to set it off. Seven grams of HMTD is enough to set off the explosion of a ton of diesel-soaked ammonium nitrate (AKA “fertilizer”), which is what Timothy McVeigh used to take down a building in Oklahoma City. And the kiddies had a bomb-making book. It ain’t rocket science, just some simple chemistry.

These two peace-loving Occupiers may have had some big plans. The lucky break that one of them was stupid enough to play with credit card theft.

All of the would-be bombers lately have been idiots that couldn’t make their bombs go off, or got suckered in to sting operations, or fortuitously got caught. If we get a new crop of competent bombers coming out, we’re in big trouble.

I had an ancestor who was sent to Siberia for peaceful anti-Tsarist activities. He escaped, wound up in a Denver Jewish TB clinic and spent his 50 years in America writing plays and poetry.

Some people put their bad luck to good use. And vice versa.

If they were Tea Partiers…’we interrupt this program for a network special report’.

Define “cache” of weapons. CNN referred to Mrs. Lanza’s two pistols and a rifle as a cache.

Shades of March 1970! Ayers and Dohrn’s parents were just as radical as they were and continually funded their nonsense.

Allahpundit! What’s the address to that apt.? I’d like to know how much it is costing them and who is paying for it.

Say what you will about the Tsarist era but they did not execute many people and they certainly didn’t commit mass murderers. I’m amazed that people signed up with the commie BS. Yet, there are still people over there fapping to Stalin.

Do the pillars have as much traction with purchasing justice as Billys Dad did? The freedom fighter semi son in law may be viewed as a worthless parasite by “Top Doc” and left to hang out to twist in the wind. In exchange for cooperation he will be hoping for mercy for his now Madonna like Princess.

Dohrn’s father was Jewish, but her mother was not. She is now Associate Professor of Law at Northwestern University School of Law. Imagine a right-wing activist with anything near Dohrn’s background getting a university position.

It was Ted Gold, Diana Oughton, and Terry Robbins who died in the explosion in Greenwich Village in 1970. They were planning on bombing a dance at a nearby military base in order to, “bring the Vietnam War home”.

they also found nine high-capacity magazines

The Mossberg shotgun is a pump-action model. So what did the mags fit? Some hardware is missing.

I went back to the source article; it states “high capacity rifle magazines”. My take on this is AR or another civilian-legal military design. I doubt this was for a 22.

They probably picked up the high-capacity magazines from David Gregory . . .

Cops found the stash in the couple’s West Ninth Street home Saturday when they went there to look for Gliedman, 27, who was wanted for alleged credit-card theft.

This is interesting. She must have been into some big time credit card theft for them to get an arrest and a search warrant.

They certainly can be both. Most addicted pregnant women are motivated enough to get on a methadone program and taper down to a low dose before giving birth for the health of their baby. She has done nothing but attend expensive schools. Her mother is an anorexic plastic surgery freak.

I’m not sure the left, as exhibited by these two budding young wingnuts, seems to think the 2nd Amendment means what sane Americans and law-abiding gun owners think it means.

I say we forgive them their transgressions (their intent was laudable, right?) and give them a few million dollars to spend on education advocacy in Chicago. After a spell of doing that they can work on influencing education reform in the public schools. Maybe he can become president of the Socialist States of America someday, comrade?

mad scientist on December 31, 2012 at 11:43 PM

Given the media’s inability (or refusal) to use correct nomenclature about firearms, the “high capacity rifle magazine” could have been a copy of American Rifleman.

Anything with more killing power than a Red Rider BB gun (obligatory: “You’ll shoot your eye out! You’ll shoot your eye out!”) is an assault weapon.

turfmann on January 2, 2013 at 9:32 AM

According to the Post, they had fashioned a machine gun out of a legal gun. Did you know that criminals would subvert the law that way? Diane Feinstein, please read. When guns are outlawed, any teenager will be able to get a machine gun, hanging out at the local Seven Eleven, to protect their legal pot. For awhile it seemed that kooks wanted to learn how to make bombs on the internet, but if you make a media fuss over assault weapons, that will be the new fashion in weapons. Whatever you fuss about you get more of, by way of the copycats.

In MA, an aspergers afflicted youth obsessed about hunting knives until he murdered a young boy in the high school bathroom. The quicker fix for this youthful insanity is “safe homes” for these…mostly…young men where they don’t experience violence, and I would say too, where they don’t see the sexual violence popularized by the media, and place like MTV and the video games.

dverplank on January 2, 2013 at 1:06 PM

I’m not going to speculate on what might have come of these two if they hadn’t been caught at this point, but seven grams of HTMD isn’t enough to blow the windows of their own apartment out, let alone take out a block of buildings. It wasn’t “enough” to merit the evacuation apart from the sense that any amount is enough to trigger the precautionary protocols.

I think what we’re looking at is a pair of hipster parlor radicals, with the guy of the two working from those silly texts which have low-explosive recipes, alongside recipes for smokeable banana peels, in a juvenile curiosity for things that go boom.

In other words, hardly the cell of a new Weather Underground.

However, given the hysterics the progressive blogs swing into over a “prepper” caught with an “arsenal” of two .22 hunting rifles and a nominally illegal kevlar vest, the story is worth noting. As it is, this couple’s threat to progressives’ phony narrative about political violence in the U.S. is enough that they’ve fallen into their usual mode of barking at the moon about FBI set-ups and Mossad “false-flags” where they haven’t suppressed coverage.
