Ban all public Christmas celebrations, icons, memorials, etc.. Then let’s see what happens to the economy. This country needs Christmas much more than Christmas needs this country.

I’d rather see protection for Halloween, because here in Texas the school Halloween Carnivals got turned into “Fall Festivals” a long time ago, but I’ve never heard of Christmas events being anything but. In this state it pays to pander to people who fear any (lone) child in their community who does not validate their religious beliefs, though.

It’d be nice if the “prohibiting the free exercise thereof” bit got an occasional win over the “establishment of religion” bit.

Really, though, the way the thing has played out, I sometimes wonder if those ‘founders’ who warned that the Bill of Rights would limit, rather than protect our rights weren’t on to something.

Ever notice that it is the Christmas season that retailers depend on for the majority of their sales every year? Why is it Ramadan, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and whatever else you can think of, doesn’t bring the same anticipation? Ban all public Christmas celebrations, icons, memorials, etc.. Then let’s see what happens to the economy. This country needs Christmas much more than Christmas needs this country.
