Anti-gun Michael Moore’s body guard arrested on gun charges in 2005

posted at 11:30 am on December 18, 2012 by

Michael Moore is an elitist gun control zealot, but he has (or at least in 2005) a body guard who carries a gun. Why? Because he’s safer that way.

Filmmaker Michael Moore’s (search) bodyguard was arrested for carrying an unlicensed weapon in New York’s JFK airport Wednesday night.

Police took Patrick Burke, who says Moore employs him, into custody after he declared he was carrying a firearm at a ticket counter. Burke is licensed to carry a firearm in Florida and California, but not in New York. Burke was taken to Queens central booking and could potentially be charged with a felony for the incident.

Moore’s 2003 Oscar-winning film “Bowling for Columbine” criticizes what Moore calls America’s “culture of fear” and its obsession with guns.

Moore, who always pretends he isn’t filthy rich, can afford to hire armed protection (does this count as being “obsessed with guns”) yet doesn’t believe in allowing those less fortunate than him to protect themselves with firearms. The hypocrisy is hurting my head. Since the tragedy in Connecticut last week, Michael Moore has been demanding more gun control.

UPDATE: Here is a more recent video of Michael Moore and his gun hypocrisy from 2008. Moore explains that he owns a gun because he opened a bank account and in return received a free gun. He then proceeds to say he wants to raffle it off for a good cause. Why? He doesn’t need it because he has security. He had it then and he has it now.

“I don’t think that uh…I have enough security that I don’t really need to worry about that.”

Rosie O’Fat reportedly had armed security for herself and her family as well, yet berated Tom Selleck just for doing an NRA ad. Limousine liberals are the worst.

This is like Rupert Murdoch droning on ignorantly about banning guns while surrounded with bodyguards. Apparently peasants and serfs don’t need to defend themselves–only the aristocracy.

Protection for me but not for thee.

Just like Rosie O’Donnel. Wait – has anyone ever seen these two at the same time…?

Typical elitist/leftist hypocrite.

Who?

They don’t even notice the hypocrisy. All they want to do is dictate how the rest of us should live.

Here he is at an Occupy Wall Street rally with at least three very serious looking men surrounding him.
Start at the 3:30 mark and you will see one behind him and two others at each side of the screen with their hands folded. A few minutes later at the 8:10 mark they do a wide shot and you can clearly see his security team.
They would mess you up boy.

No, no–Moore doesn’t own the gun. The security firm does, so it’s technically not in private hands. The firm is licensed and therefor government-sanctioned, so really, really, super-really the government owns the gun that the private firm kinda-sorta owns that’s obviously not owned by the guard.

Or something like that…

I am not LE, but it certainly looks like the white guy in the gray pullover has a sidearm on his right side behind the hipbone (where an iwb piece is carried). The other two bodyguards are wearing black so I cannot see their clothing.

How much per day for this kind of protection? $5,000? $10,000?

iconoclast on December 18, 2012 at 12:47 PM

Bet those big dudes use their own handguns.

jclittlep on December 18, 2012 at 12:47 PM

They had ear pieces and everything.
Those guys were pros.
I bet there was a BIG gas guzzling SUV parked nearby with the door open too.

Here is another one.

The fat P.O.S. should worry more about a real killer: heart attack

Silly wingnuts…some lives are more valuable than others, duh.

I wonder if his body-guard’s in the NRA.

They should make the Tonies, Cannes, Golden Globes and Oscars gun free zones. While they are at it make the headquarters for NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC and CNN gun free zones.

Excuse me, a free gun for opening a bank account? Since when? How did that slip through libturd objections? And he accepted it, despite his aversion to guns?
