I saw this as an Avengers #1 parody in a few seconds. You could probably judge the nerdiness of a viewer by the amount of time it takes.

By the way, The Avengers were not the first superhero team. DC’s Justice League of America debuted in 1960. While The Avengers debuted in 1963.
