Chris Matthews’ Contribution To The Civil Discourse In Lansing

posted at 8:33 pm on December 11, 2012 by

The host of Hardball apparently has not heard of anyone on the right not named Pat Buchanan or Michael Steele. Weighing in on the passage today of the right to work law in Michigan, Matthews decided to go after Scott Hagerstrom of Americans For Prosperity, who had a presence, and formerly a tent, in Lansing today that got flattened by the union mob. Matthews didn’t want to hear a word Scott said, other than whether or not the Koch Brothers pay him, apparently.

Now I could have missed it, but I don’t seem to remember Matthews badgering David Brock or Eric Boehlert of Media Matter for America who pays their salary repeatedly. For some reason, George Soros’ involvement doesn’t rise to the level of journalistic integrity to Matthews.

I’m shocked, shocked.

I would love to meet Mathews out in an alley.

The worst part of the Obummer victory is the new zealotry of Mathews and the rest of the 85 IQ bums on that station.

Obummer now calls them his brain trust.

Who pays your salary, Chris? Sub-moronic idiots are embarrassed for you, you poor thing.

Michigan is open for business. Since Snyder became governor, the state dropped one of the most oppressive business taxes in the country and has now enacted right-to-work. There’s affordable housing and a talented workforce. The state has an excellent university system. There are plenty of vacant facilities whether you’re looking for manufacturing, office space or warehousing. There are plenty of recreational activities with the Great Lakes and hundreds of inland lakes. Our winters do suck, however.

Until recently, it was the guy, who thinks “state-run communism” (what other kind is there, but moving along…) “works,” Jeffrey Immelt.

Chris Matthews would fit right in…SIX WEEKS AFTER BENGHAZI:

MATTHEWS: Who are you supporting?

YOUNG ROMNEY SUPPORTER: “[Romney because], unlike Obama, “he doesn’t cover up scandals in the Middle East.”

MATTHEWS: “What was the scandal? Get to it, nail it, what was the scandal?!”

PARAPHRASING YRS: “Benghazi and the administration’s early dogged insistence that the fiasco was the result of a spontaneous demonstration over a YouTube video.”

MATTHEWS: (emphasis mine): “Yeah, it was about the video. Read the newspaper. Thank you. Everybody knows it’s about the video. It’s all about the video.”

Who pays Matthews’ salary…and more importantly why?

DeathtotheSwiss on December 11, 2012 at 9:36 PM

What a jerk. Journalism out the window.

lexhamfox on December 11, 2012 at 9:43 PM

in the past I never thought I’d ever say this, but Tingles now makes Olbermann seem a model of sober restraint. Each week brings us a new disgrace over which to marvel.

juliesa on December 11, 2012 at 9:43 PM

I don’t get it. I think Mathews may have somemkind of mental disorder and I am surprised a producer would not have pulled the plug during such bizarre behavior. I remember him appearing drunk during one of the post debate shows. I see why his ratings are so bad.

Ellis on December 11, 2012 at 9:47 PM

If his hackery weren’t so widely and notoriously known, most people would conclude from this video that Chris Matthews is having a stroke.

Glenn Jericho on December 11, 2012 at 9:50 PM

Jeebus… I used to think all these poitical hacks kept the conversation to a 3rd grade level.. I see Chrissy is lowering the bar to a Pre Kindergarten level… he would appear more intelligent if he just stuck his thumb in his mouth and wiggled the 4 remaining digits.

conservatives and Republicans should boycott MSNBC and leave it as the echo chamber it so desperately wants to be.

The guy was far too nice. Put me on cam with Matthews. I’ll rip him a new one. Before they cut the feed.

Judging by MSNBsleaze’s crappy ratings, I’m guessing we taxpayers do somehow via the Federal Government.

Dr. ZhivBlago on December 11, 2012 at 11:22 PM

DeathtotheSwiss on December 11, 2012 at 10:23 PM

Considering Mrs. Schultz, Mr. Maddow and Looney Larry refuse to let anyone with an opposing thought on their show, I’m surprised no boycott has ever been assembled in the first place.

If Joe Scarborough had any conscience, he’d quit “Morning Shmoe” before he loses any more of his dignity. And it would be in S.E.’s best interest to get fired.

He sure hasn’t aged well. I actually think he did suffer a stroke, which only has added to his clinical insanity.

Myron Falwell on December 12, 2012 at 12:57 AM

Matthews stuck on stupid as usual

thinkagain on December 12, 2012 at 1:14 AM

Why does anyone pay Matthews’ salary? It can’t be for the ratings.

I’ll have to ponder the other possibilities.

What is this MSNBC you speak of? Seriously, I last watched MSNBC in 1997. Didn’t take long for it to wear thin.

The Notorious G.O.P on December 11, 2012 at 8:50 PM

That’s cool. Resident socialist sesquipedalian says it’s perfectly acceptable to pummel political opponents or anyone that irritates you.

darwin on December 12, 2012 at 9:27 AM

I would have replied to Matthews, “You’ve asked me your stupid question five times. No wonder MSNBC has such low ratings.”

I have no tolerance for Matthews hectoring, and no one should feel they have to be nice back to someone being a jerk.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. That is why liberals share one.

DAT60A3 on December 12, 2012 at 10:13 AM

Actually, after watching Matthews’ harangue here, I have to say that Matthews didn’t do himself any favors here; he is the one who ends up looking like the idiot, not to mention an unprepared and ignorant interviewer.

The targets of his verbal harangue look calm and confident and they didn’t succumb to Matthews’ dogmatic grilling, which, in the end, only frustrate and annoy viewers and reveal that Matthews is ignorant–or disingenuous–about not knowing about Americans for Prosperity; he really should know about if he’s a “journalist” right?
