A poem

posted at 2:01 pm on December 2, 2012 by

Ostensibly from a newspaper clipping deep in the past, but I have no way of knowing. In any event, a political holiday poem, submitted without comment. (Though yours are most certainly invited.)

That was good and true for d’s! They have been like that forever it seems!

Now it is hard to tell the difference, many times, between d’s and r’s?

Snopes calls this one “probably true” and provides part of the Hoover speech which prompted it. http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/welfareode.asp

Doing the work Jazz doesn’t want to do.

(I clicked on your name. Almost wished I hadn’t. The ballet was way too much. But I wonder if the helicopter is armed?)

Democrats had their party taken over by Marxists around the turn of the 20th century. Before that, they were just bigoted racists. Since then, they’ve become professional parasites.

I thought I wouldn’t need additional therapy, but that has now changed.

I don’t care if it’s really old or not. It’s freaking brilliant.

Isn’t this more strong evidence that the parties have not “flipped” since the 60s (or whatever date chosen)like so often claimed?

How about this new song (a poem set to music, I suppose)…

to the tune of “Proud Mary”:

Well, I left a good job in the city,
workin for the man every night and day…

[Chorus]

Dole-in, dole-in, dolein on the rivaahhh!
Dole-in, dole-in, dolein on the rivaaahhh!
