Caption this: Biden at Costco

posted at 2:40 pm on November 29, 2012 by

Joe Biden goes shopping at Costco in the middle of the fiscal-cliff (non)negotiations, and gives everyone a reason to wonder what it is he does with his days:

Biden’s cart held, among other things, flowers, children’s  books, fire logs, a 32-inch Panasonic TV and a large apple pie. The books, he said, were for a Delaware charity that his wife, Jill, had started. He said he picked titles based on “things I know my grandkids like.”

Biden did a loop of nearly the entire store, including bakery and frozen foods.

He spent some time looking at watches, including one that cost $1,200, and he put in a call to his daughter, Ashley, saying he needed to “get some guidance.” But it’s unknown whether he actually purchased a watch.

Biden also ate several Costco food samples and appeared to enjoy them. (Who wouldn’t?)

But he turned down employees who tried to lure him to the tire department. “Hey man, I don’t need tires,” he said. “I don’t drive anymore.”

One reason for having a VP who served in Congress is to facilitate negotiations on legislation.  So why is Biden grazing the free-sample range at Costco rather than making the rounds on Capitol Hill?

On the other hand, we’d be short of caption-contest material without these public appearances:

Biden paid for his Costco purchases using the rental income he derives from charging the Secret Service agents who protect him.

Because he and the other bozos aren’t taking it seriously, and/or think the media will have negotiated with the GOP for them by imploring them to raise those rates.

He spent some time looking at watches, including one that cost $1,200

Someone calculate how many years of pre-presidential bid charitable giving it would take Biden to reach $1200. My guess is more than 3.

The guy trying to sell Biden tires was funny.. Capitalism at its finest. Also, we’re stuck with this bozo for four years when we could have had Paul Ryan. Seriously people.. Dumb choice.

“No. Jill. Listen. I’m outside Number One doing number one, when I get a hankerin’ for some jerky. So, I start walkin’. I come across this guy with a shopping cart -godlovim- and he asks me if I want a ride! No. Seriously. So I say, ‘Sure, man.’ Now I’m at this new Costco on -hey lady? Where the hell am I, anyway?… I know it’s a Costco. What part of town am I in? NE? Market Street?- Honey, I’m at the Market Street Costco in NE. Yeah. Uh huh. 10 minutes? Okay. See you then. Oh, honey? Some jerky?”

The COSTCO CEO shills for Obama during the election, then Biden shows up after the election for a photo op. Isn’t that cute.
