Obama and Romney to have lunch tomorrow at the White House

posted at 10:33 am on November 28, 2012 by

Dude, three words: Secretary of Business.

It will be the first meeting since the election’s end.

However, the White House said there will be no press coverage of the meeting.

Given O’s famous disdain for Mitt and Romney’s natural awkwardness, that joint presser would have been one for the ages. Pity it’s not happening.

Exit question: Is this pure window dressing, designed to show the public that Obama’s a bipartisan kinda guy so that he can blame House Republicans for obstruction if the fiscal-cliff talks break down? Or does he actually want to offer Romney some sort of position? Hint hint.

Obama is cynical enough to set up his rival for failure. Knowing Romney is progressive but many people imagine him conservative, he will use this to damage conservatism.

That’s nonsensical. He’s a progressive, but he’ll damage conservatism because people think he’s a conservative. Even though it’s so obvious to you he isn’t, he’s fooling everyone else. Or something.

I think that Romney is a moderate conservative. I also think that he isn’t a very smart politician and believes in civility, something Barry doesn’t believe in. He’d totally let himself get used for the good of the country, thus screwing over the country. If it were me, I’d just ignore the White House. There’s no reason why in a democratic (small d) country, a private citizen is obligated to accept such an invitation.

Romney is the kind of man that will have lunch with the POTUS, no matter who POTUS was, if he was invited. Let’s wait and see what this lunch brings. No media allowed, so no real photo op. Mitt is meeting with Ryan before he meets with Obama. That is a good sign.

What’s on the menu? Aragula, shrimp, & waffles?

Ahhh yes, more ‘nista-cult-inspired delusion. Biden was never going to be replaced by Hillary, or anyone else, no matter how many times you cultists try and claim victory for preventing something was never going to happen.

xblade on November 28, 2012 at 12:57 PM

Go back through my posts and find one that brands me as a “nista.” The truth is, you anti-Palin zealots are the insane ones. Besides, that wasn’t even the point of my post; it was parenthetical.

But I don’t expect someone like you to be able to comprehend big words like “parenthetical,” anyway.

So he’s going to inform Ryan about stabbing him in the back before doing so.. Mittens is such a gentleman.

Romney lowering himself and falling as a pawn in Obama propaganda game…

mnjg on November 28, 2012 at 1:56 PM

All we need is the former GOP candidate for President to do is put his seal of approval on Obama’s statism. And given Romney’s record and campaign, I’m a little worried that he’ll do it (especially given the last two debates, Romney’s demonization of >$250K income, etc.).

Holding my opinions for now.

Don’t be surprised if Obama makes him walk out through the garbage (like Bebe)…

Why? Conservatives know a conservative when they see one. No problem there. Independents on the other hand are potential future conservatives. The media always paints Republicans in their cross hairs as far more conservative than they ever are and add many non conservative ideals to the conservative agenda when it suits their meme of the day.

Pretty much the only morons around here seem to be the moderates in the republican party. You know, the ones who picked the guy who likes to work with Democrats as the standard bearer of the Republican party. When he stabs you all in the back you will imagining it is in order for him to lift you to his God Planet.
