Paging Joe Klein…

posted at 5:55 pm on November 27, 2012 by

Yesterday, Jazz posted cringe-worthy video of Time’s Joe Klein slavishly repeating outdated lefty Benghazi-related talking points on Morning Joe.  It was appalling.  The thrust of Klein’s message was “there’s nothing to see here, folks.”  More specifically, he claimed that (a) Susan Rice’s talking points “were accurate,” (b) the raid did arise from a “spontaneous protest,” and (c) it was not a premeditated attack by an Al Qaeda affiliate.  Twenty-four hours later, his hackery is laid bare.  Point by point:

(a) Susan Rice, on her own talking points:  “We explained that the talking points provided by the intelligence community, and the initial assessment upon which they were based, were incorrect in a key respect: there was no protest or demonstration in Benghazi.”   You might want to jot this stuff down, Joe.  The talking points…were incorrect.

(b) The White House on those “spontaneous protests:  “There was no protest outside of the Benghazi facility.”  Scribble away, Joe.  There was no protest (a fact that was established long ago).

(c) Part 1 – Democrats on the Senate Armed Services Committee (via ABC’s Jake Tapper): “The attack on Benghazi was a terrorist attack, organized and carried out by terrorists.  That it was premeditated, a calculated act of terror…”

(c) Part 2 – Former CIA Director, Gen. David Petraeus (via Rep. Peter King): “The original talking points were much more specific about Al Qaeda involvement. And yet the final ones just said indications of extremists.”

Got all that, Joe?  Terrific.  Say, you might want to consider losing some of those “sources” of yours who “confirmed” that the administration’s BS narrative was gospel.  Or maybe those alleged sources were really just the part of your own heart that wanted to believe.  In any case, at least now you’re free to get back to the really important stuff…like deciding whether your publication will name Sandra Fluke its 2012 person of the year.

Parting Thought: Rice has finally conceded that her talking points were “inaccurate” in one “key respect” (namely, the protest story).  Left unmentioned are her other televised assertions, including the notion that American security measures in Benghazi were “substantial,” and that the US “had no information” that the deadly raid was pre-planned.  The latter statement is false; the former, insultingly so.  What about those “key respects”?

What kills me is how they didn’t include Al Qaeda involvement because it wasn’t “proved”. But they including all kinds of crap about the video … like THAT was “proved”?

The most egregious of Klein’s assertions was blaming Ambassador Stevens for the lax security. Way to go, Joe. Uncovered meat and all that…

Hey Joe,

In case this article catches your eye. You sir, are water-carrying fraud. Of course, this is not the first time your ass-hat has been handed back to you. Anyone who ever has you write or speak for them should be required to attach a disclaimer or to catagorize your appearance as comedy.
