Video: Scarborough vs Klein on Susan Rice (Spolier… does not end well for Klein)

posted at 5:39 pm on November 26, 2012 by

A clip from today’s Morning Joe which should warm the cold, dark cockles of even the most Scarborough hating hearts. Time’s Joe Klein drops by the set and launches into a discussion of Susan Rice and all things Benghazi. A few of the highlight quotes from Klein:

Hamas are moderates…

There are no unanswered questions on Benghazi.

Chris Stevens “wanted a minimum of security…”

The talking points were accurate.

Anybody can call themselves Al Queda.

[the local extremists] are “the Crips”

After the initial Klein comments about Hamas being moderates, they cut to a quick clip of John McCain, but when they return the real fireworks begin at around the 2:45 mark. The series of gobsmacked looks and dripping, sarcastic comments from Scarborough in response to Klein’s incredible allegations are worth the price of admission alone. Click play and let the good times roll.

BONUS: Klein essentially calls Petraeus a liar for saying AQ was involved.

Typical media doofus living inside his left wing bubble. I’m sure if it was Republicans involved this ass clown’s tune would change in a heart beat.

We’ve always been at war with Easteasia!

Appalling.

unstinkingbelievable….

cmsinaz on November 26, 2012 at 6:07 PM

Someone should airdrop Joel Klein in to Libya. Maybe then he would learn something.

exliberal on November 26, 2012 at 6:41 PM

Sweet baby Jesus…why would anyone trust the media anymore?

So he knows more than our Petraeus because he has a son who has been deployed and received emails from unknown and countless diplomats that agree with him?

nextgen_repub on November 26, 2012 at 6:43 PM

The next four years will suck. I am wondering if the media is aware they are irrelevant?

goflyers on November 26, 2012 at 6:55 PM

Hilarious.

Punchenko on November 26, 2012 at 6:58 PM

IMHO, countless must mean zero here, not ‘lots of’. If he received these emails, they are countable. If not, then countless would be an accurate description.

Great example of talking a lot and saying nothing…

Jack Slade on November 26, 2012 at 7:01 PM

Good lord, I just don’t have the words after watching this.

gator70 on November 26, 2012 at 7:16 PM

Klein’s strategy is to say two things at once and keep talking until he bores you to death.

Rather tacky though for him in a way to blame STevens for his own death by saying Stevens chose lower security.

earlgrey133 on November 26, 2012 at 7:17 PM

Scarborough is a tool, tomorrow he’ll be back to being the little david frum wannabe he is.

clearbluesky on November 26, 2012 at 7:18 PM

So, nothing’s changed. The administration knowingly used false talking points to cover for Obama’s comment the AQ was all but defeated and threw yet another Obamaphile, Rice, under the bus.

LizardLips on November 26, 2012 at 7:19 PM

Loved Joe Klein last week telling the poignant story of his parents’ dying, and his tough decisions regarding palliative care. Love Joe Scarborough now laying the yakkum-smackum down on Mr. Klein’s b.s.

goflyers on November 26, 2012 at 6:55 PM

Over the next four years we will become numb to most all of it..what outrages us now will simply be the frustrating new norm. Four years is a long time. Think back four years. How many “new norms” have been established? Most of that four years was spent getting the machine up and running. It’s a fully functioning animal now.
Remember back…the outrage over taking over GM and screwing the secured bond holders..the “America is a nation of cowards” comment..the wink and a nod to the New Black Panthers..Obamas “We’ll reward our friends and punish our enemies” comment (he wasn’t talking about enemies of America, he was talking about American citizens)…remember the slimy methods of getting Obamacare established..remember the green energy scams with tax dollars..remember Fast and Furious..remember his comment to the communist Medevev about flexibility and standing with him…..all now just history, because almost every day there is a new place to look..a new potential scandal. This is not by coincidence..this is the technique. This is the effective plan, and it’s this:..”How many balls can they keep in the air?”
All those things that outraged us, is just history now and will not be revisited, because new chaos is planned and we’ll have to focus on that..until they throw another ball into the ring.

The tactic works very well.

What function,exactly, does Mika serve?

ctmom on November 26, 2012 at 7:54 PM

Klein lies about Stevens wanting less security enabling him to be closer to the people, and makes it a negative that other embassies are like fortresses, with embassy staff removed from the local people. I guess he misses the point that Chris Stevens is dead and embassy staff at these “fortress” embassies are still alive.

Very spot on observation. Very sad as well.

LiberalGenius on November 26, 2012 at 8:15 PM

I’ve never considered myself anti-semitic, but when you consider the
preponderance of statements from similarly surnamed individuals from ACLU, Hollywood, liberal democrats, personal injury trial lawyers, public employee union officials, and of course the media it is getting more and more difficult to be objective

“Blame the Jews” is so 1930s. What if Mr. Klein is just a lying dumbazz?

Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on November 26, 2012 at 8:28 PM

I think it is more so “2012″…..Sure that explains Mr. Klein, but why is the majority of this demographic so openly and consistently hostile to America?

sirpatrick on November 26, 2012 at 8:50 PM

Afraid I can’t get into the proper mindset to argue rationally against the bizarre position that a majority of Jews is hostile to America. Have a nice evening.

Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on November 26, 2012 at 9:34 PM

Jeebus!

All Joe Klien didn’t do was stand in the middle of a panicking crowd screaming at the top of his lungs:

“ALL IS WELL!… REMAIN CALM!!!!”

As Kevin Bacon’s Chip Diller did ages ago in ‘Animal House’.

Christ!

If this is what passes for ‘credible journalism’ nowadays. No wonder MSNBC’s ratings are being sucked down the toilet drain!

Jack Deth on November 26, 2012 at 9:58 PM

I would love for Joe Klein to sit across the table from the dad of the fallen Seal in Benghazi an try to peddle that crap. That smug smirk of his would end up below his ear.

. . . But you’re reconsidering? Instead, try rational thought. Beats ignorant crypto-paranoia every time. Follow me. A lot of doctors are Jewish. A lot of lawyers are Jewish. Can we stipulate that the foregoing is not a Jewish conspiracy? Good. Now further stipulate that the preponderance of Jewish journalists is also not a conspiracy. Good. According to Pew, something like 70% of journalists are Dems. About 70% of Jews also happen to vote Dem. Does it seem so outlandish that a lot of the Jewish journalists you see are Democrats? It would be weird if it were otherwise, it seems to me. As for why so many Jews continue to, as the old saying had it, “earn like Episcopalians and vote like Puerto Ricans,” that’s an old question with answers so boring I wouldn’t wish them on my former fellow graduate students at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Don’t go the anti -Semitic route. It would only make Obama happy, and I would have to spend a lot of time on this blog making things as unpleasant for you as possible, and I’ve got better things to do with my time.

smellthecoffee on November 26, 2012 at 10:11 PM

On one hand you have this a$$clown telling Joe that Chris Stevens was not the kind of guy that wanted extra security and wanted to be closer to the people, yet two leaders of the guy’s security team testified to the House Intel Committee that the opposite was true.

“Define Al Qaeda…” Really? He might as well have called Petreus a liar but didn’t have the balls to do so.

This guy gets called out by O’Reilly all the time. For Scarborough to do so tells you that Klein has zero credibility.

Jews brought Karl Marx and communism to USA, right after they escaped from pogroms in Russia. Has nothing to do with Jews, I am one, but with myopic views that generation has brought onto the world. Pretty much all the “old timers”, those who escaped Russia and Europe in early part of last century are communists at heart. Those of us who lived the “communist paradise”, aka USSR, are those against Hussein and communism, we know only too well what it means.

So, not anti-semitic in your case, but anti-communist. even though to you and zillions of others they mean same thing. Sadly.

Trust me, I hate Hollywood and Wall Street as much as the next guy. I call them “Jewish anti-semites” for their anti-Jewish views and actions. And I still have no idea who any Jew, whatever the views, can work with Hussein. They are Jews in name only. Again, sadly so.

That’s the problem with these jackwagons. It’s all an intellectual exercise for them. They don’t (or won’t) see how high the stakes are. What do they say the definition of a conservative is? A liberal who’s been mugged. Sounds like ole Joel could use a vacation in Benghazi. I hear there’s a couple of houses ready to rent.

JournoList commie… this government and these media institutions are reminding me more and more every day of The Soviet Union. It’s disgusting.
