Pavlich shoots an Uzi

posted at 1:04 pm on November 19, 2012 by

The NRA celebrated it’s 141st birthday over the weekend so it’s only appropriate I post a video of myself shooting a fully automatic Uzi to celebrate.

Wait. From pictures I’ve seen, federal law says that women shooting guns must be bikini clad only.

I’m in love.

She also failed to comply with the industry standard to turn to the camera and laugh.

Very nice. Full auto can get expensive, but, I suspect a pretty lady gets many offers to pay for the ammo.

Fortunately, you can get more of these things chambered for .22LR, so you don’t go broke punching holes in paper.

And in a home defense situation, a bad guy isn’t going to care what caliber is hitting him in the face. Especially that much of said caliber.

Probably not the best idea to offer jackassery to a lady who can handle an Uzi on full auto.

Stunning. Absolutely beautiful. And the person holding the gun isn’t too bad either.

Mr. Prodigy on November 19, 2012 at 1:49 PM

Much bigger than the gun she’s got at home. Also appears not to shoot off prematurely.

If you can afford the gun, I’m pretty sure you can afford the ammo.

I get your point, but it really applies more to the semi-auto versions imho.

Ayeah; .22 shells can kill a person, assassins use that caliber all the time. And when a frightened homeowner empties a couple dozen into your torso at close range? You gonna be DEAD bro.

CurtZHP on November 19, 2012 at 1:34 PM

Agreed; .22 can kill you, especially when a frightened homeowner sends a couple dozen bullets your way. The biggest concern is holding on target instead of spraying said bullets all over the place in such a situation.

My 60 year old H&R 9 shot Trappers Model is still pretty accurate at self defense range, although I wouldn’t be too optimistic at trying to defeat a lot of layers of winter clothing. Love that old thing. All the blueing is worn off and she shaves a little lead, but super reliable and accurate. I just can’t help it. Love the old stuff.

The Uzi is fun to shoot. Rented a full auto version myself once and went through 2 boxes of 9mm in seconds… but what a blast!

Yakko77 on November 19, 2012 at 4:28 PM

Next year around Sept 11, come out to Colorado Springs for Dragon Man’s September 11 Memorial Machine Gun Shoot. I’ve been to several of them and they are a BLAST!!! Pay as you go to shoot nearly every kind of machine gun and sniper rifle that exists. Dragon Man was featured earlier this year on Larry the Cable Guy’s Only in America.
(this is NOT a paid endorsement, and I don’t work for him either, but I do go to his range regularly)

No, it isn’t. The possessive of “it” is “its”, while the contractive form of “it is” is “it’s”.

WTH?? “it’s” IS correct here, McFly?

Um…no.
“It’s” is the contraction of “it is”. “Its” is a possessive pronoun.
In this usage “it’s” is incorrect.

Not that this really matters for other than the etired English teahcers here, but Katie’s statement is a contraction of “it is”.

MelonCollie on November 19, 2012 at 3:04 PM

I attended a few classes for renewal of my CCW, and it’s always interesting to observe people at the shooting range portion of the class.

At 15-20 feet, nearly any newbie can fire off a .22 repeatedly into a head sized target. However, when given a 9mm they miss the exact same target more than half the time. HUGE difference, and it is probably magnified by a home invasion scenario where you have the tension, poor visibility, etc added into the equation.

That being said, a shotgun is probably the best choice.

Norwegian on November 19, 2012 at 4:49 PM

No, the birthday is an object belonging to the NRA – it is the NRA’s birthday. (See the possessive in there?) Unconctract “it’s” and it becomes obvious:

The NRA celebrated it is 141st birthday over the weekend

It doesn’t make sense like that.

Just wrap your towel back around your head and it will all go away, though. You’re ok. ;)
(And, no, for all the obtuse commenters, that is not a racist reference, but one to his screen name.)

CurtZHP on November 19, 2012 at 3:09 PM

Which is where a tactical pump shotgun comes in very nicely – my next purchase. Very distinctive sound that MIGHT just send them running without the need to shoot. But if they don’t run, you don’t have to worry quite as much about aim – and the right shot (6 or 7) will do a lot of damage to the Dem voter you’re targeting, but won’t penetrate the drywall – so other people in the house stay safe.

dentarthurdent on November 19, 2012 at 4:56 PM

GWB on November 19, 2012 at 4:54 PM

There are 2 uses of “it’s” in the sentence. When I looked I focused on the second one – which is correct. Yes the first use is incorrect.
But then I usually don’t fuss over spelling and grammar on this site, since there are a lot of fat fingers in play.
