So While We Conservatives Are Grappling With…

51 percent of the country disagreeing with us on tax policy, losing ground on the life issue, if Rasmussen’s report is right, a loss in the culture war as stated by Bill Bennett, too many of us on my side of the aisle are engaging in what has become our genetic modus operandi – the circular firing squad.
But though we may find ourselves in 2012 as outnumbered, electorally speaking, outspent by Hollywood and labor unions, and totally outmanned on campuses and schools everywhere, stop for a moment and ask yourself, in the middle of your pity party, what it would be like to be an Israeli right now. Hundreds of rockets have been launched indiscriminantly into Israel from Gaza, mostly Iranian-supplied, and the only reason there have not been more casualties to innocents is because of the success of the Iron Dome missile defense system. You know what missile defense is, right? It’s what Barack Obama specifically took away from our Eastern European allies in order to accomplish exactly squat in our relationship with the Russians. But I digress. When you are fortunate enough to get the missile warning siren, you have between 15 and 65 seconds to get to shelter, depending upon where you live.
So Israel has called up 30,000 reserve forces and the country is mobilizing for war with Hamas, and one that will deal a sharp blow to stop them from becoming a security problem in the near future. Yet this is how the international mainstream media handles the crisis. If you are a conservative, you simply cannot watch this interview and conclude that even when outnumbered by fools at best, and evil radicals at worst, you still have to draw a line in the sand on principle and fight. It’s a good lesson to conservatives here.
We are all Israelis today, and pray for the safety of those who will be tasked to do what has to be done in order to protect their nation.
