Two Different Worlds

In America yesterday, not just the cable news channels, but the three broadcast networks of ABC, NBC and CBS broke into daytime programming to cover the President’s first press conference in months, a slightly less than one hour meandering stammer-fest which featured fawning by the White House Press Corps that would put the audience at an Oprah taping to shame after car giveaway day.

On the other side of the world, hundreds of Iranian-made rockets are leaving the Gaza Strip and raining down on Israel…mostly. I just heard from Yoni the Blogger, a dual citizen of the U.S. and Israel, and retired IDF officer who said while we were watching our president yesterday, he was watching fifteen Iron Dome Interceptors in one hour take out incoming rockets.

Obama’s response? He called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said defend yourself, but try not to kill any innocent civilians, as though that thought didn’t already occur to Netanyahu. He then called Egyptian president Morsi and told him he’d like to work to deescalate the violence in the region.

I’m stunned after that demonstration of leadership. I may need to lie down for a while.

I’m so relieved President Choom is on the watch! Whatever would we do without His Magnificence?

BO doesn’t seem to care much about those civilians on the receiving end of his drones. But that’s different. BO is a kind, tolerant and just a way cool guy not to mention a liberal democrap so it’s a-okay that he kills a few civilians. Now if it were a repub. Well lets not even go there.
