Revealed: The shirtless photo that the FBI agent sent to Jill Kelley

posted at 3:32 pm on November 15, 2012 by

Sure looks more jokey than sexy to me. Kelley wasn’t the only recipient, either:

Humphries, 47, confirmed the photograph exists and was sent to Kelley and dozens of other friends and acquaintances in the fall of 2010, shortly after Humphries had transferred to the Tampa office from Guantánamo Bay, where he had been an FBI liaison to the CIA at the detention facility there.

Indeed, among his friends and associates, Humphries was known to send dumb-joke emails in which the punch line was provided by opening an attached photo.

A Seattle Times reporter was among those who received an email containing an attachment of the shirtless photo. The subject line read: “Which one is Fred?”

Looks like much of the media (and maybe you, sire) owe this man an apology for treating him purely as a clown for this picture before knowing all of the details of this shenanigan. Seems like good natured fun from a man who seems to do a hell of a job as an officer.

That’s it? I mean, seriously, that’s it? :) :)

It’s actually a pretty funny picture– if I knew the guy and was sent that pic, I’d have laughed and forwarded it to other friends.

Me? After I wrote this post last night?

Obama sets up a campaign to discredit witnesses, and we fall for it.

This is why we cant win an election. (Well, that and we’re mean and racist and stuff)

Nope. After you wrote this one.

Seems that were implying that the FBI guy is a “shirtless circus clown.” I know that you later considered theories that he wasn’t. I’m mostly busting your chops.

There was no malice or ill intent for this photo.

It was a funny pic.

Apologies to you sir.

Media spin: but WHO are the other shirtless men in the picture? Does this put a homosexual spin on this whole sorted affair?!?

Sounds like whoever leaked the “shirtless photo” bit in the first place was maliciously trying to attack this guy and harm his reputation. He was needlessly dragged through the mud and made to look like he was trying to creepily get in bed with someone he was investigating, when the reality was she was just his friend and he was trying to help her out.

kaltes on November 15, 2012 at 4:25 PM

Oh for God’s sake. Is THAT picture what the fuss was about ? Whoever suggested there was any erotic intention is an ass.

From the linked article:

He was outspoken in opposing the FBI’s decision at the time to turn Ressam over to agents from New York after the attacks, and warned their tough tactics were undoing the cooperation Humphries had coaxed out of the al-Qaida-trained terrorist. Eventually, Ressam ceased cooperating, as Humphries predicted.

Humphries found himself sharply criticized within the bureau. He insisted he had done right and owed it to Ressam.

Sounds like that might have been why it was linked that he was up to no good…he rocked the boat and got burned for it.
