Never had a facebook account. I’m absolutely certain it has saved me countless moments uncomfortableness throughout my adult life.

Almost every time I talk to my girlfriend on the other side of the country, she whines about some coworker or relative she has “unfriended” or is not speaking to because of something they said on FB. Can’t imagine how my marriage or family relationships would be if that sheisse had been around 3 decades ago. Thank gosh I’m young enough to understand social media, and too old to give a flip.

At a family gathering my sister in law made a big deal about how great facebook was. I asked her what was the big deal and her response was “you can stay in touch with your old friends, like high school and stuff”. meh, with a class of over 700 that are in various stages of mid life distress there is no way I want that to occur.

Facebook is like the lottery, it’s a tax for idiots. Only it taxes their time. And Facebook and social media are a large part of the reason why Obama is still in the oval office. Facebook encourages obsession with all things “other.”

A-freakin’-men. I deactivated my Facebook account after the election because I didn’t want to be involved with or contribute to a society that is stupid enough to think that a.) “Obama again is so awezzzzum” or b.) Romney wanted to take us back 50 years.

/facepalm facepalm faaaaaacepalm!

I logged in briefly to reassure some folks that I had not, in fact, off’ed myself in a fit of Romney/Ryan grief. Those 20 minutes back on “the feed” made me realize how knowing everyone’s business all the time makes you start to hate your friends… and there’s plenty of people out there who actually deserve to be disliked, why start with friends?

(Yay! My first Hot Air comment! Let me point out, I’m not generally hate-filled, I’m just PISSED OFF. Can I say that? Heh heh…)
