And if it is people in red states telling you that, the thing is, that in most of the states Romney won, he HAD no less than 55% of the vote, more like 60-70% of the vote. Those who stayed home, in a red state for something not being picky enough to their liking, who don’t care, say about the Supreme Court, or beefing up the win for their state republican senator, a la Mourdock or Akin? should we reward those people who didn’t show up when they had a candidate that they had a duty to make a choice on? The liberal Machine re elected him, even though the choice was a fiscally responsible gay guy. Republicans can’t co opt gay, they must think he is pretending. I am glad the young WHITE voters….why are we looking at their skin color????…knew that they had to vote for Romney to fix the money. My dollars spent on private education and math tutoring for my children were not for nothing. Thanks kids. They emailed after they went to the polls, they are good kids.

In San Diego, a openly Gay Republican ran against a corrupt old white guy liberal multi-term congressman for Mayor. The Left came out in droves to vote against the EVIL Gay guy and vote for the old corrupt white liberal career politician.
Also, it seems the white kids regardless of who they liked personally, voted for the guy they thought could actually fix the economy and help them get good jobs. The minority kids voted for the guy that looked like them (and against the evil rich white guy) and would give them free stuff.

It’s as simple as that.

…Yes in 2008, we were told all the Republicans “moved” in America and that is why 10 million votes for John McCain disappeared, but in 2012 election theft the “white folks” simply just did not show up, but for some reason Sean Trende just can not figure out the numbers as he wants to blame Christians, but yet the Southern vote was not off, so it is these saltines who are missing and no one knows who they are, where they are or what they are…….they simply just do not vote.

The answer of course is Scytl, Sequoia and SOE, the Big Three S’s in vote fraud which Tiger Lily pointed out first. The programs are simply running now casino software making it a payout for the masses in the minority, while the “house” which is Obama or Rove always win.

It is amusing this RCP propaganda as it quotes numbers of these “minorities” which vote and they do not make up a great part of the vote. You got blackoids at 13 percent, hispanoids at 10 percent and the other oids of Asian at 5 percent with Caucasoids at 72 %.
It is amazing in these numbers that when it came down to missing white folks, that Obama still “wins” the elections as it is only the right wing white people who do not show up to vote in the missing millions…

this is interesting. If I’m reading right it means Romney drew 17% of the young black vote and 49% of the young Hispanic vote. That is HUGE. If true, it marks a big potential shift in voting patterns that can be capitalized on and more importantly it means that a significant number of black and hispanic youth are willing to buck the ‘tradition’ of voting for Democrats and even vote against a Black man to do so.

That’s just the difference between what each candidate received. These are the actual numbers according to the source…

Latino 18-29 year olds: 74% (O) | 23% (R)

Black 18-29 year olds: 91% (O) | 8% (R)

Now that you mention it, Romney actually did perform slightly better with young black voters than he did with black voters of any other age group.

This would seem to indicate that white voters, regardless of age, will vote on economic and fiscal issues, where as minorities will not, even if they respond that they agree with our overall conclusions.

So the million dollar question is, where is the disconnect, and how do we get around it.

First one to figure this out gets a cookie!

That means we at least have the means to replace some of our elderly white voters as they die off. We still need to make marked improvement in our ability to appeal to minorities, but at least its not entirely bad news.

I think you’re reading it wrong. If Romney won 16% of blacks, he would President. Romney lost BY 51 and 83 points. That means Obama’s take – Romney’s = 83 among blacks, for example. Which would mean Obama got around 92%. Which jives with the exit polls I saw showing 93%.

That is, actually, way down from 2008, where I saw exits of 98% and 95%. Hopefully, without BHO on the ticket, it will decline even further. Having a guy who doesn’t look like them on the ticket could prove decisive. If that sounds offensive, remember that you’re talking about people that vote near unanimously. What other reason could be be than identity? You can’t get 95% of Americans to agree that bacon is good.

Unfortunately, what’s more likely to prove decisive is the effect of the man’s policies. My generation needs its 1970s.

Virtually all of Romney’s gains within this age bracket came from young whites. He got absolutely demolished by young people of color; losing young Hispanics by 51 points, and young blacks by 83 points.

Wow, I’m 50 and have been a Republican literally since I was born (my Mom had me out campaigning at 4 months). I’ve never accepted the idea that poor people deserve poor schools or medical care. I don’t think the average Republican does.

But I just don’t see how the big Federal systems have really helped. Maybe they did for a time but now they are so caught up in bureaucracy and regulations that teachers aren’t allowed to teach and doctors aren’t allowed to treat.

My Dad grew up very poor. My Mom’s family had a little more but she was next to the last in a family of 9 and her Dad died when she was 5. For the first 10 years of their lives, they both went to one-room schoolhouses and then on to bigger public schools. My Dad was “skipped” through 3 grades in the first 7 because, in those days, you received one-on-one attention. My Dad’s public high in a small town taught Latin.

My point here is that education is not about big beautiful schools — it’s about dedicated teachers who have a true calling to reach young people. My Dad was a handful. He ran book, hooked school, and organized crap games at 13. But teachers cared about him and tried to keep him occupied with books and lessons.

Long story shorter – after serving in WWII, my Dad came back to the Pentagon for a few years, then had TB for a year, and decided to go to college while he had to be on inactive duty recovering. He earned a college degree from U of MD in 2 years, then went to Washington College of Law (American U in DC). He opened a successful law practice and then became a Circuit Ct Judge in Maryland for 16 years.

All that from a public school education administered by a local county schoolboard.

It’s already possible for them not to be poor. My family started out in this country quite poor, and in the face of taxes higher than they are today they managed to be upwardly mobile. The fact of the matter remains that you aren’t going to convince a population that believes one’s access to education and health care shouldn’t be determined by their wealth that what they really need is to get theirs and stop caring whether or not the poor have access to a quality education, or quality health care.

We don’t need them. Push some of the more popular Ron Paul ideas (end the failed ‘War on Drugs,’ take a hands-off approach on social issues that don’t hurt anybody like gay marriage, go all-in on cutting useless programs and departments) and we can win white Millenials 60-40 easily. If we do that, the 5% who voted Gary Johnson or Jill Stein will swing to us, and next election it’s not going to be the ostensibly “hip” black dude against the “old white rich dude,” which will leech some of the white Millenial vote from the Democrat side.

I think that’s where this is going. There’s been chatter about contesting states like Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and maybe Pennsylvania going forward and increasing the share of down-scale white voters. Immigration will have to be reworked also to strike the right balance.

But how? Non-whites have a fundamentally different view of social justice. Non-whites are much more class-conscious: we know that schools and medical care in poor neighborhoods are much worse than in wealthy ones, and we aren’t going to accept the conservative view that the disparity is entirely irrelevant.

Go libertarian on some drugs.

It would also be helpful if Romney made even a cursory attempt to reach out to those young white voters. Up here in Ohio, Obama had an extensive network set up with College Democrats and had shuttle vans running continuously on election day to transport the college kids to and from their polling places. Romney had nothing.
