Romney: I only wrote a victory speech

posted at 6:43 pm on November 6, 2012 by

Talk about confidence. Mitt Romney told reporters earlier today that he only wrote a victory speech for tonight, which obviously means he isn’t planning on congratulating President Obama for winning a second term.

Early exit polls released on Tuesday evening show that about half of voters still blame President George W. Bush more than President Barack Obama for the country’s economic problems and most cite the economy as their top issue in the election.

The exit poll results released by The Associated Press fit with the argument Obama’s team has been making in the lead-up to the election.

His statement came after Romney adviser Ed Gillespie said there was “no doubt” Romney would win tonight.

“The fact is, we can’t afford four more years like the last four years. And Governor Romney has been out there putting forward a positive vision and a plan to turn the economy around, to create 12 million jobs, unleash domestic energy, get us to a balanced budget. That’s why he’s got momentum here on election day. And I think that’s why he’s going to win tonight, not just win, but win decisively. I don’t think there’s going to be any doubt at the end of tonight who the next president is going to be.”

The Hammer just reported that 51% of government workers in NoVa are voting for Romney.

That includes this government worker.

You don’t need to write a concession speech. Two or three sentences are enough.

Link please? I find it hard to believe that Romney’s team would leak an internal poll showing them down five points in a critical swing state on the night of the election.
