If you were a comedian paying even the smallest iota of attention to national politics, and you had Joe Biden on in a situation that didn’t even make an attempt to get one laugh out of the VP’s goofiness, you are No. 1 on the list of Top 10 hacks.

Odds are if Obama loses on Tuesday, it will be tough for Letterman not to do a Top 10 list every night over the next four years that doesn’t make fun of Mitt Romney, since he’s basically become Keith Olbermann with a studio audience and an orchestra.

Very few late night hosts seem to be making any attempt at being funny anymore. Conan does it, Leno does occasionally, but when their jokes are met with applause instead of laughter you know they’re doing something wrong.

Heh. That was good for a few chuckles. Particularly, the item that says you don’t have to pay income taxes if you vote early.

On a side note, that was quite possibly the friendliest I’ve ever seen Biden on camera. If he interacts with his constituents in that manner, I can see how he was a senator for 30 years. Heck, for as much grief as I give my own congressman for being a stooge of Big Labor, I’ve met him and can honestly say he seems like a great guy, politics aside.
