Nonsense On Stilts

posted at 2:30 pm on October 31, 2012 by

Megyn Kelly just finished interviewing former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey from London about Barack Obama’s Benghazi problem. Her closing question was playing devil’s advocate and asking how he’d respond to the White House’s explanation of fog of war, bad intelligence, etc.

Mukasey said, “That’s nonsense on stilts. There’s no evidence whatsoever that the intelligence community gave that kind of information, and there’s no basis for it. There were cameras outside that consulate. Those cameras showed an attack. There was never a demonstration. There was never anybody saying anything about a video. That was a fabrication from the start.”

When will the next smoking gun drop to which Newt Gingrich has been alluding? And if these “two news networks” continue to sit on the story, will Fox end up scooping them?

If 2 networks did have what newt suggested; why isn’t fox one of them? They are the only ones talking about it.

It don’t not make no sense.

Fox is the only one with the scoop and they will drop it tomorrow.

I do hope Fox scoops them and that it happens this week (obviously).

I’ve been doing some thought calculus on just which senator Gingrich spoke of when he mentioned the additional information last night. It has to be either Lindsey Graham , Ranking Member, Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs; or Saxby Chambliss, Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The strategic thing for Fox to do is wait for the Sandy coverage to subside and then drop the bombshell.

In the case of a scope, timing is everything. If Fox has the “next smoking gun drop,” they’ll want to wait until the storm news has died down a bit to drop the hammer. That way more eyes and ears will be tuned into the story.

Even if it is two other networks, it would take collusion for them to sit on the information and risk getting scooped by a competitor.

It can’t wait. If it exists, which I don’t doubt (I doubt whether a network has it) it needs to come out now. If it’s as big as they claim, then the other networks will be hurt by ignoring it. Every “early” vote counts. Time to end this “the storm stole the election” narrative. Time to start, “Obama lied and people died” the narrative that further cemented his electoral defeat.

If Fox has it, and it becomes a “Hannity exclusive” you know immediately it’s a big nothing burger.

What I was thinking exactly. OTOH, maybe real news goes to Brett Baier by default?

Those emails will be he equivalent of a certain stained blue dress. Only then will the Obama apologists be forced to admit that the President ordered the stand down resulting in the deaths of 4 Americans at the hand of 17th Century Savages.

We all know that there is a media double standard and all, but this is so monstrously abusive of them it’s breath taking. Has the nation forgotten the months and months of coverage of Abu Graib (sp)? Nobody died (let alone Americans including our ambassador) over that but the press was relentless. Simply sick-making the way our 4th estate has become our nation’s 5th column.
