PHOTO: Romney at disaster relief event in Ohio

posted at 2:16 pm on October 30, 2012 by

I wrote about this over at Townhall earlier. Romney held a disaster relief event in Ohio today instead of a campaign rally. Here is a photo from the event.

Smart politics. And the right thing to do regardless. This will help Romney’s and O-I-H-O’s cause more than any rally would.

What an honorable man we will have as our next president…;-)

This event was held in the arena of my son’s former high school. Wish I could have been there. Will be in upstate NY for the next several weeks.

I’m surprised the slimestreamers aren’t all over the Romney campaign for “politicizing” the disaster–these disaster relief events could be considered “good” for Romney, you know, like Obamuh’s photo ops in DC as he “monitors” the situation and orders the fed agencies around.

Assisting in a relief effort is now politicizing? Did Mitt also use the racist dog whistles of “Chicago” and “golf” while he was there?

Yeah, because they in no way politicized the aftermath of Katrina.

THIS is Romney in his element. He thrives in these kinds of situations. He’s the kind of guy that if he were POTUS, the only thing that would keep him from going to help out at a disaster relief center was the fact that he was POTUS.

A lot more in the slideshow at the bottom: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/10/30/superstorm-sandy-effect-romney-obama-election_n_2044641.html?ncid=GEP#slide=more260292

All I heard from libs was how this was all going to be covered in Romney-Ryan signs and really still a “campaign event.” Looks like they were wrong.

Not to worry, the stalwart Reddit crowd has already been crafting their clever, snarky headlines linking to the news, being sure to put “relief event” in big finger quotes and making a lot of noise about the location being the same. Cause, you know, they’re a lot more savvy than we.

wait…did OH get hit too?

I’m going to point out that it is true about donations: Most relief efforts have an abundance of clothing and canned goods already, what they really need is financial donations. This is particularly true for the Red Cross.

The media wishes Obama could look that comfortable around common folk. He doesn’t even look that comfortable around his own wife.

Mitt showing up at a shelter to work is “politicizing” but NYT and Slate using the storm to make arguments that Mitt isn’t socialist enough, which is A-OK.

This garbage is so predictable.

forest on October 30, 2012 at 4:29 PM

Obama makes speeches and looks concerned for the cameras while Romney rallies volunteers, packages relief supplies, and loads trucks.
And that idiot Andrea Mitchell thinks he plans to give it to the Red Cross.
Um, no Andrea, he’s going to deliver it where it will do some good.
