Time Lapse Video of Frankenstorm

Pretty massive and impressive if I do say so myself. I’m a bit of a science nerd, so stuff like this blows my mind. Things in Washington D.C. aren’t looking so great right now and conditions are expected to get much worse. The rain is pouring, the wind is a howlin’ and and it feels like it is going to snow.

Words are inadequate to describe that beast.

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, ‘Peace, be still.’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

Oh, wait. Wrong messiah.

i live on the texas coast, so, i am sorry, but it’s only a category one hurricane. a category 2 storm took some shingles off my roof. the huge size of that storm slows it down.

the biggest concern will be flooding. but, do hunker down.

Dr. Demento on October 29, 2012 at 5:04 PM

If the effects of the hurricane linger, could we see a sufficiently depressed turnout in eastern NY state in order to flip it?

Not likely, but it’s fun to dream!

I should strike NY and replace it with PA…

Funny to see that the Reuters emblem looks like a mini-hurricaine, itself.

I lived through Hurricane Camille, was on Key West as she went by. No hurricane should every be dismissed lightly, but as Dr. Demento pointed out, Sandy is a Category 1 hurricane. Camille was a Category 5, third largest hurricane ever recorded.

Be smart, do not mess around, take every precaution. But don’t get hysterical either, it’s a category 1 hurricane, bigger than most, but still, not the end of the world. Fools die in hurricanes because they fail to grasp how powerful they are, smart people get out of their way and understand you can replace your property and your belongings, you cannot replace your life.

There is no excuse for not knowing where you are and what the prudent precautions are. If you are under 100 feet above sea level, you need to move to higher ground. Board up your windows, lock your door and move to someplace safe. Don’t get caught in the crush of people who wait until the very last second to try to make a run for it. And don’t worry about looters stealing your stuff, cause your stuff isn’t worth dying over.
