Green Room

Another fond farewell!

posted at 4:48 pm on October 25, 2012 by

I see fellow Greenroom poster Howard Portnoy has posted a farewell to the Greenroom. Let me say the same — adios, my friends. I’m moving on down the highway, as Jim Croce sang (or something like that!).

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here, but you can still catch my random musings at Center Right Side, a blog I run– with my sister-in-law and father-in-law posting, as well.

I’ve really enjoyed the comments on my posts, too, even when you don’t agree with me! And I’ve been very grateful for the opportunity to post my thoughts on this well-read page.

And don’t forget….

Libby Sternberg is a novelist.

Another one gone?! What’s going on?!

If this keeps up, I’ll have to start writing stuff myself.

And trust me, you don’t want that!

From an earlier Green Room thread:

OT: looks like the Green Room is coming to an end. Just got an email stating that it’s going to be turned into some sort of chat room for Salem Communications employees. Always knew the Green Room would get axed once Salem took over, just never knew it would take this long.

I sincerely hope that quality writers like JE Dyer, Howard Portnoy, and Fausta Wertz will be added to that roster, somehow. If not, HA is giving the boot to a lot of premium content.

The people who pay the bills make the rules. Hopefully, Salem won’t do for the Green Room what the corporate owners of most of the cable TV networks have done with those channels in recent years — i.e. completely lose focus on what makes the site work in an effort to broaden the visibility of their own employees.

May turn to say Godspeed and all the best, Libby. It’s been great sharing space with you.

(Not happy with this Green Room decision, but I’ll save my pouting and grouching for another thread.)

Enjoyed your time here, Libby, and I wish you nothing but the best.

Forgot to add: At least I have your novels to look forward to! You write so beautifully that I’m sure I’ll enjoy them as much as your political writing.
