Proggie Bloggers Say Republicans ‘Condone Rape,’ Want ‘Rapists To Become Fathers’
posted at 6:49 pm on August 31, 2012 by Matt Vespa
Left-wingers have reached a new low in American politics. Rusty Weiss of The Mental Recession and Tony Katz of All Patriots Media caught this abysmal smear on the Facebook page “WeLoveToIrritateHatefulRepublicans.” It depicts a man about to sexually assault a woman with the caption “He’s decided to become a father…right-wing Republicans want to make sure he does.”
Katz posted yesterday that ”progressive blogger Erin Kotecki Vest posted the photo on her Facebook page. When asked if she was saying that the GOP condones rape, she replied: (and gave her permission to be quoted)
Tony I am saying – and you can quote me – that the GOP is making sure rapists become fathers. Just like this graphic says. i did not say the GOP condones rape. I said the GOP is making sure rapists become fathers. Which is a FACT based on the GOP party platform as written, drafted and accepted.
Katz concluded saying “Vest doesn’t come out directly to confirm what the photo says, side stepping that obvious reality by saying that the GOP is making sure rapists become fathers. By any standard, this is not low. This is disgusting.”
Furthermore, Weiss also reported on August 30 that Vest is a blogger for The Huffington Post. In addition, Vest “also serves as Social Media Director for BlogHer, Inc., an organization that President Obama recently spoke to.” Weiss wrote that her “full bio states that she provides commentary for CNN, and that she has also been responsible for “briefing the White House and members of Congress on how to reach and engage with women online”. Those briefings included White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, members of the administration’s new media team, and Republican Cathy McMorris Rodgers.”
Cathy McMorris Rodgers?
In addition, to her outreach activities, she “can also be seen can also be seen on the Barack Obama campaign website, touting the President’s healthcare reform. Her blog posts demonstrate that she is a leader and contributor for the organization Parents For Obama.”
However, in Weiss’s updated crosspost on Newsbusters today, he caught another liberal Huff Post blogger, Jodi Lynn Jacobson, who wrote this comment.
Weiss found out that, besides being a blogger for Huff Post, “Jacobson…according to her bio has been quoted extensively by such media outlets as the New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of the blog RH Reality Check, a site devoted to ‘reproductive justice’ and fighting ‘reckless rhetoric’ used by abortion opponents.”
Furthermore, “RH Reality Check operates with the support of the United Nations Foundation, a group founded and funded by CNN media mogul Ted Turner. The UN Foundation began with a $1 billion donation from Turner, and they in turn, have contributed heavily to other pro-abortion organizations. And now the Editor-in-Chief of that blog, charged with combating reckless rhetoric, is spouting off about how Republicans condone rape.”
This is utter garbage. It appears that the progressive left, feminists, and the Democratic Party have become abortion fetishists. They seem to only be happy with a woman’s right to choose if it involves an abortion. In addition, the ‘pro-choice’ movement is ironic for their ‘anti- choice’ sentiments when it comes to women choosing to be stay-at-home moms or rescinding a monetary grant, like Susan G. Komen for the Cure did with Planned Parenthood, which caused an uproar. In the end, Komen was bullied by progressive thugs to reinstate the grant.
Republicans and conservatives do not condone rape. That’s nonsense. What planet do these people live on? Not to mention that abortion was never a federal issue until 1973. There was never a federal ordinance banning the procedure. In some states it was legal– and other states it was illegal. In fact, as a constitutional conservative, I feel that that’s the way is should be and Roe v. Wade should be overturned.
Until then, I expect this ‘Republicans are pro-rapist’ narrative to catch on with progressive bloggers and news outlets, like Salon.com, Daily Kos, and others– which will only further expose the cesspool that is American liberalism.
Keep it classy liberals.

I fully expected to see Slate doing that kind of add.
Funny thing about this convention, there met have been some special channel, only known to the left, where the REAL Republican COnvention was on, because from the comments on Salon, Kos and Slate, they were watching something much different than I was the last three days.

“republicans want rapists to become fathers”??? this is one of the weirdest attacks on pro-lifers i’ve ever seen. i don’t even know where to start. i’m not even sure if i understand what they’re trying to say here. it doesn’t really make sense. not even going to try to argue against it because i don’t know how to respond to something that is that nonsensical…

Matt, you might want to take a look at this:
A woman’s life is a human life: a theological error in the GOP platform?
It’s from Susan Brooks Thistlethwaite, a fellow at the Center for American Progress, who says of the GOP that “[some in the party may indeed consider women human, but they are clearly not the people crafting policy.”

And liberals believe that rapists (like all criminals) are victims of poverty and bias and most certainly were abused as children so they oppose sending them to prison.
Dozens of progressive policies serve to keep rapists on the streets where they can enjoy their “lifestyle choice” Liberals are at the same time, appalled that a woman might carry a gun to prevent an attack. It’s easy to make the argument that democrats actually want women to get raped.

Wouldn’t turn about be fair play? “Democrats condone butchering of humans and want all doctors to become butchers” because the democratic party supports sex selective partial birth abortions?

Oh boy, it’s only a matter of time before one of my ever-increasingly unhinged leftist friends posts this on FB, I’m sure!

No, I just want innocent babies to live.
avagreen on August 31, 2012 at 9:51 PM
Obama, like all Democrats calling the shots on abortion in the Democratic Party, supports allowing healthy, fully developed babies already in the process of being born to be murdered.
That is now the practical Law Of The Land. Babies are dying. Real babies are getting sliced up, not just embryos.
The real Abortion Issue in this election (as opposed to the PR Issue) is about whether or not we keep killing babies about to be born, or whether we adjust that policy away from killing babies about to be born.
Republicans who allow the Democrats to reframe the argument away from that are playing a mug’s game. That includes the Republicans who keep insisting on making the platform political poison.

Nope. He’s decided to become a rapist.
Nope. Since I can’t make sure he doesn’t become a rapist, I’d still like to make sure he doesn’t become a father.
Should his decision to become a rapist result in a child, I’m all for him losing parental rights to said child and all against killing the child for the sins of the father at the same time.
They can not stay classy since they have never been classy.

Note, too, that liberals would oppose the death penalty for a convicted rapist.
Liam on September 1, 2012 at 11:17 AM
Exactly. But not for the child.

This is ridiculous, and totally off point. That being said, as a conservative, I prefer we focus more on “sperm donors” being fathers, that would surely lighten the welfare load.
waterytart on September 1, 2012 at 1:46 PM
Actually, we’d prefer she be allowed to carry a gun to blow his head off. Lefties prefer raped women to dead rapists.
