DOJ dismisses O’Keefe Holder ballot video as ‘manufactured’ voter fraud

posted at 10:36 am on April 10, 2012 by

The U.S. Department of Justice has responded to a revealing video by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas that shows a young white male entering a D.C. polling place on primary day, identifying himself as Eric Holder, and being handed a ballot. The good news is that the DOJ concedes that the actions depicted exemplify voter fraud. The bad news is that they write the incident off as an example of “manufactured” voter fraud.

The Daily Caller reports having reached out to Justice, which refused to make a statement, taking its case instead to the left-leaning blog Talking Points Memo. An unnamed spokesperson told TPM, “It’s no coincidence that these so-called examples of rampant voter fraud consistently turn out to be manufactured ones.”

This is a convenient argument for Eric Holder’s Justice Department, which has locked horns with eight states that have passed laws requiring prospective voters to present a photo ID at the polls. But the argument is also flawed and disingenuous.

In 2008, more than 2,800 ballots were cast in Minnesota by voters identified by an independent data collection service as “deceased.” Were these also cases of “manufactured” voter fraud, and if so how? And even if the examples are rigged, what lawmaker worth his salt ignores evidence that a law can be easily circumvented? In January, Project Veritas released another video, this one from a New Hampshire polling place where workers can be seen issuing ballots to dead people. The Justice Department has yet to react to this video.

Finally, are we to believe that if the Justice Department received an anecdotal report of voter disenfranchisement they would be as eager to dismiss it?

So if you owned a bank and someone easily “manufactured” a way to carry off all of the cash, would you dismiss it as such?

Or would you close the barn door, before the cow wandered off?

DoJ doesn’t give a hoot, because they WANT the cow gone.

I spent three cycles as an election judge in Dallas county. I was a little tougher than those folks. If they didn’t have their voter registration card I suggested strongly that a drivers license would work. But unless another voter challenged them I couldn’t refuse to give out a ballot if the name they gave was on the voter list. Even then they got to vote under the challenged voter rule.

I did put more than the average number of ballots into the provisional (I think I remember the name correctly) envelope though. Supposedly, those got extra scrutiny and were not added to the total until the ballots got to the election center.

Even the democrat poll workers were okay with voter ID and this was almost twenty years ago.

That’s okay. If the DOJ doesn’t address the problem seriously, I’ll be more than happy to vote 20 times pulling the ABO lever this year.

This can work both ways.

yes DOJ dipsh|ts, “manufactured votes” are manufactured

FineasFinn on April 10, 2012 at 11:12 AM

The reason the examples on video are all manufactured might possibly be that people committing actual voter fraud DON’T BROADCAST THEIR ACTIONS OR INTENT.

If Holder’s ballot had been cast and the person walked out without taking – or at least, releasing – the video he shot… would anyone have known he had done it? Does that then somehow magically mean he DID NOT do it?

By definition, fraud is manufactured because it involves deceit or trickery, which must be premeditated in order to qualify as such. Duh! You know, for people who have supposedly studied the Constitution and the law, Obama, Holder and the other loyal minions of this administration sure don’t seem to be able to put together the simplest argument. I have freshman students who could formulate a more well reasoned thesis than these eggheads.

The only alternative DOJ had in this instance was whether or not to prosecute. It is up to Congress and the legislatures to fix the problem.

The thing that gets me is that the top law enforcement officer in the US and the guy who oversees our elections hadn’t used the ballot himself.

I imagine DC has early voting.

“manufactured” voter fraud.

As opposed to the “organic” variety that “just happens?”

an example of “manufactured” voter fraud.

Well, they are the experts.

WTF does “manufactured” voter fraud mean?
As opposed to a “non-manufactured” voter fraud incident?
Would a “non-manufactured” voter fraud incident make it on the net?

Is it safe to assume it would not, as parties partaking in the federal crime of actual voter fraud probably dont want to have their identities recognized?
Does Erica Hold-up recognize the incompetent nature of his suggestion? Is he/she/it cognizant of exactly what is coming out of its devil maw?
