President’s Day Poll: Reagan best modern president; Obama not so hot
posted at 12:18 pm on February 20, 2012 by Howard Portnoy
Despite his fondness for comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln, FDR, and even Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama can’t seem to avoid being lumped together with the past president he least admires—his immediate predecessor.
A Harris Poll that asked respondents to name the Best and Worst Presidents Since World War II found Obama placing second in the Worst category, right after George W. Bush. Bush came away with 27% of the vote, Obama with 22%. Richard Nixon, with 12%, was third.
But not all the news is bad for the current commander in chief. He also placed seventh in the Best Presidents category with 4% of the vote. Unfortunately, his next door neighbor once again is Bush 43, with 2% support.
So who is the Best President Since World War II? That distinction goes to Ronald Reagan (25%), who also shows up on the Worst list (4%), as well as the list of Best Presidents in History, second only to Abraham Lincoln. (Obama is also in that list, with 4%.)

Carter didn’t make the bottom 3? Obama should be dead last. Immediately followed by Jimmah.

The Harris Poll has always leaned toward the Democrats. But I didn’t know it was still in business; that’s the surprise in this poll.

I would put bho ahead of wilson, fdr, and carter as the worse president the US has ever had! I know this was since WW11 but bho gets top honor for worse, IMO.
Reagan was by far the best since WW11 by my thinking.

Worst ever was Jimmy Carter, hands down.
W gets a bum rap, but history will eventually vindicate him.
At least they got the “Best since WWII” right. No one in his/her right mind can deny that Reagan was the best.
It’s also amazing how overlooked Eisenhower is. The Interstate highway system he had the foresight to start is a great achievement.

“best modern president” is pretty much a turd beauty contest.

Nothing can vindicate his giving us the DHS, the TSA, the Patriot Act, TARP, and a myriad of unconstitutional acts.

George Washington as a great American leader is not taught in most schools. His claim to fame is being “first” and being on the dollar bill. Sad. Let’s face it most Americans are culturally illiterate. Silent Cal is not even on the radar screen.
