MSM distorts news reporting in order to play race card

posted at 12:04 pm on January 30, 2012 by

As is inevitably the case in a 24-hour news cycle, the outrage over last week’s literally-in-your-face clash between Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and the president has subsided, but not before the equally inevitable shouts of racism were heard around the web. MSNBC “News analyst” Al Sharpton helped those with a code deficit decipher the incident, which he called “another example of disrespect and ‘deligitimatizing’ this president.” [Video clip here]

As though he needed backup, Sharpton enlisted the services of Sirius XM black radio host Joe Madison, who explained that the governor is just one more white conservative “who cannot stand the fact that this is an African American who is now one of the most powerful individuals on the planet.”

Now that that controversy has died down, time to ask, as Daniel Tosh might, “What’s next?” That would be a story by a reporter named Stephanie Farr, who writes at the Philadelphia Inquirer website philly.com:

In a horrific assault in Center City on Saturday night, three teenagers who were spouting racial slurs pulled a man out of a cab to beat him. And when the cabdriver intervened to stop the assault, the teens turned their rage on him, police said yesterday.

About 8:25 p.m., a cab was stopped at a red light at 15th and Chestnut streets when two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy approached and started calling the male passenger in the back seat racially derogatory names, police said.

The boys then threw an unknown liquid at the cab before they opened the door, pulled the passenger out and started to pummel him, police said.

When the cabbie got out of the car to see what was going on, the passenger ran away and the teens turned on the cabbie. They punched him in the face, kicked him and threw a liquid on him, police said.

Before anyone pages Rev. Al, I should point out that, after continuing in this vein for another two paragraphs, reporter Farr writes, “Police said the three teens were black and the cabbie and passenger were white.”

If the topic were anything else, the reporter (or conceivably her editor) would be guilty of burying the lede, a cardinal sin that is deligitimatized in Journalism 101.

It is one thing for the mainstream media to perpetuate the widely held liberal notion that the United States remains a fundamentally racist nation. But to report a story about a racially motivated crime and ignore until the seventh paragraph the fact that the perpetrators are black is to engage in the worst kind of race baiting.

The media has a double-standard on race? I am shocked, shocked.

Why anyone would be surprised about this is beyond me. “Hate Whitey” is pretty much the stock in trade of the multi-culti cult that currently runs our country.

Too bad the cabbie wasn’t packing!

Here is an article about racism billboards. I find this beyond horrible that people are still dragging race up all over the place! bho is doing his evil part to bring this up also. Gotta pit the races and wealthy/poor against each other now don’t we?

Are you trying to tell me that Obama isn’t president of the United States but only president to Holder’s “people” and the poor? Actually, he isn’t much of a president to the poor either

Ask yourself: Would they have reported it this way if the colors had been reversed?

“Police said the three teens were black and the cabbie and passenger were white.”

This kind of deliberate distortion or downplaying of the facts is all too typical of the media. Unfortunately, the very next sentence in the Philly article also indicates what is disgustingly commonplace in situations like this:

Police did not immediately know whether the teens would or could face hate-crime charges.

How could there be any doubt? Evidence includes statements that racial epithets were uttered. That kind of thing is always used as an indication of a racially-motivated hate crime. Certainly if the victims were black or some other “non-white” identity and the perpetrators were white there would be no pretense to uncertainty as to what it was about. It’s one thing for the media to be biased but it’s another when the cops are governed by, at best, a misguided political correctness, and at worst actual anti-white bias themselves. But, of course, it they were to look to the DoJ they would find that very bias alive and well.

Actually, most newspapers would never have reported on the races of the attackers and victims.

Excellent point. Thank you for adding it.

These attacks have been all too common, though it has been noted on only a few blogs. “Beat Whitey Night”, “Knock Out King”, the 200 race riots over the Country this last summer alone described as “Flash Mobs”, the horror of the attacks at the Wisconsin State Fair (See: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/update-wis-gov-orders-in-state-patrol-after-mob-violence-at-state-fair/) where Whites were dragged out of their cars and torn off their motorcycles in mob racial violence.

Every attack is “random” even the attacks where there is clear organization. (See:http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/08/10/flashmob-attacks-in-us-cities-raise-questions-over-possible-race-motivation/) and every Mayor, even those who have to call out troops and impose curfews (A practice normally reserved for War or extreme natural disasters) downplays the racial aspects of these attacks. Eric “Our People” Holder will not bring charges against blacks, so the beat-down’s continue.

For a complete synopsis of last year’s horror, see the book: White Girl Bleed A lot” by Colin Flaherty.

Gee affenhauer, didn’t you know? It is the responisbility of the MSM to caver up the race in ALL the attacks. They are “youths” or “Teens” or “Young People”. To call them black is the truth that dare not speak it’s name.

Just so you know, Howard, there was that story a few weeks back about that middle school-aged boy in Texas who pulled out a gun and police shot him? All the news reports stated that he was an “unidentified middle schooler.”

Well, if he was unidentified, how the hell did they know he was a middle-schooler? I told a friend of mine that he was probably a Latino boy, which is why they didn’t want to release his name. It would incense those racist white southerners to engage in violence against the Hispanic-American community, I’m sure. If he had a more Caucasian-sounding name (regardless of his ethnicity), they would’ve listed it.

Two days later, they release his name. I wasn’t surprised to see that I was right.
