Santorum Iowa Ad: ‘No Surrender’

posted at 6:28 pm on December 5, 2011 by

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has published a full-page ad in Iowa newspapers in which the former Pennsylvania senator vows to “protect America’s moral foundation.”

The new ad, clearly aimed at social conservatives who are a key GOP constituency in the Hawkeye State, is timed to coincide with Santorum’s three-day “Faith, Family and Freedom” tour of Iowa, which began Sunday in Sioux City.

“I believe what makes America exceptional is not just our economic potential or our remarkable innovation, but the fact that we are a moral enterprise,” Santorum says in the ad (click here to view in PDF format). “As President, I will protect America’s moral foundation, empower American families and build America’s economic freedom. And I won’t compromise on my values to do so.”

In a press release, the Santorum campaign said the new ad will appear “in several major Iowa papers” including the Des Moines Register.

I’m not voting for him in the caucus. As these ads show, he’s trying to set himself apart by being the one who will stick it to the gays the hardest (figuratively). Thing is, that’s not even on the radar in this election. If he can’t make the case for himself in terms of fiscal sanity, lower taxes, and smaller government, then he can’t make the case, period.

You sound like one of the interweb GLBT bullies, TSUGambler. All the candidates have made fiscal points and have policies on their web sites. Take a gander. However, what will it matter for the average American if there is no voice in government in a position of power for the family against crony corruption? Aren’t you for the little guy? Prefer the big time?

You thought Obama played a good Hamlet, just wait for Newt’s Hamlet 2.0. He has more positions on positions than positions. (The urban legend of the skull on stage being his first dead wife is a nice touch, no?)

How about another Citizen of the World(TM) from Mitt. Do you think they still have the staging from Obama at the Brandenburg gate? The Bloomberg Channel set is banking on their banking bonuses spun into donations maintaining the crony financial status quo, Obama approved. No white collar crime left a paper trail behind!

How about Perry who is so scared of leadership that he wants to close congress part of the year. Damn world events, full cultural suicide ahead!

I’m proud of America and her cultural inheritance, just like Rick Santorum.
