Police arrest teacher who made students dress in bras and panties

An Oklahoma elementary school teacher who hosted a tree trimming party for students at her home is in police custody. Her crime is not violating a politically correct school or local policy that bowdlerizes references to Christmas. Rather, it is the unorthodox dress code that she enforced—bras and panties with a Christmas theme—as well as the age of her guests: All were third graders (h/t The Smoking Gun).
The teacher, Kimberly Crain, 48, was arrested on Friday and arraigned on charges of child pornography. Pottawatomie County District Attorney Richard Smothermon has asked that bail be set at $1 million, stating that Crain is a flight risk. Crain resigned her position at McLoud Elementary School on Thursday.
The investigation began earlier this month when a parent told Shawnee Police that her daughter and the girl’s classmates had been invited to a pizza party at Crain’s residence. The child told her parents that “they dressed up in bras and panties [imprinted with phrases like “Ho! Ho! Ho1”] and decorated the tree and ate pizza.”
The child also revealed that Crain “took photos of her and her friends decorating the tree,” and that some of the girls “made up a cheer dance and did it in the bra and panties while Crain videotaped them.”
A search warrant affadavit provides additional creepy details, including this one based on a statement taken from another of the girls in attendance: “Crain has all the kids in her class Skype over the computer with an older man wearing glasses named ‘Uncle G.’” The man is not further identified in the affidavit.
An article at the website of station KRMG notes that the FBI is also on the case. An agent named Clay Simmons is quoted as saying:
Currently we are examining the computers and the other digital media that may contain images of child pornography and try to review them and see if there’s any [additional] criminal charges to be filed.
A final detail worth noting is that Crain at one time was McLoud’s “teacher of the year.”

I didn’t read the whole thing, but why didn’t the girls tell the parents about this before they went? The girls had to get and put the bras and panties beforehand to go to the party? I would think the parents should tell the kids to tell them about this type of going on in the future?

No, the teacher had the bra and panties there, and had the girls change into them at the “party.” One article in today’s paper said some of the girls didn’t want to put them on, and she somehow forced them (I assume just by telling them they had to do it, but the article wasn’t specific). So bizarre. No telling where all the pictures are now, or who all has possession or access to them.

Thanks. If a teacher asked her girls to her home, parents might want to know WHY? Makes one wonder, how many others like this gal is doing this? Worse, how many male teachers are doing this to get girls to his home? Parents NEED to give a hoot what their kids are doing and with who they are doing things with.

Yes. Heck, if I’m a teacher having students over, I want parents over, so that I wouldn’t be accused of anything.

There is NO reason for a teacher to have students in their home. Jesus, another disgrace to my profession.

This kind of thing is what makes it such than no one can ever be alone with someone else’s kids. And that is sad.
Pictures are forever. Let’s hope law enforcement got to the pictures before they were ‘delivered’. Let’s also hope that this is the worst these kids suffered. And finaly, find and punish the perps.

I would think the kids would obey their teacher. They’ve been conditioned since they were 3, 4 or 5, depending on whether they attended ‘Pre-school’ (which is also school) or waited to start in Kindergarten, that one does what the teacher says. Also, of course, the kids were captive. How many 3rd graders have cell phones? Surely not all of them. How many 3rd graders, even if they had a cell phone, would have known the point at which to call mom and dad?
You really have to wonder how this “teacher” thought she’d get away with it, and that none of the children would tell their parents.
