Baseball—World Series-Open Thread: Game 3

WORLD SERIES – GAME 3—Series tied 1-1

This series shifts to Arlington Texas with the Rangers feeling pretty good about getting home with come from behind win Thursday night in St. Louis.  Matt Harrison, (14-9), gets the call for the Rangers, while the Cards start Kyle Lohse, (14-8) ~ both with 3.39 era’s for the season.

Sixteen of the last eighteen teams that won game three, (after a 1-1 tie), went on to win the World Series.  Neither of the two “superstars” Josh Hamilton or Albert Pujols have a hit in the series, but I think this will change.

With all the great college games today and tonight, its a wonder any one remembers we’ve got a World Series to decide.  Shoot, if you’ve got a college football comment to add to the thread~have at it.

What a performance by Albert Pujols!  Final score: Cards 16, Rangers 7  (Cards lead series 2-1)

Blowback

Good evening Knucklehead….LaRussa looks like a genius inserting Craig into the line-up

Tennessee’s hangin’ with Bama 6-6 at the half.

Wisconsin’s leading Michigan St 14-0 in the 1st qtr

Washington just scored to make it a game with Stanford leading 10-7

And the Texas Tech Oklahoma game is delayed~lightning (I think)

Good evening Rovin….

Yes, Tony is a genius. The biggest mistake that my White Sox ever made was getting rid of him. They really tried hard to bring him back to Chicago when Ozzie flew the coop last month.

I don’t pay attention to college football, but since I have a summer home in Kentucky, I really pay attention to college basketball.

Always wanted to visit Ken-tuck…..got invited there back in ’67 to race horses, (cause I was a 103lb wrestler and had strong hands) but didn’t want to leave the area or my gal-friend, so I passed. Often wonder what “might have been” all these years later. Love just about all sports, (except the NBA, because Sterns is a crook and the game is fixed imo).

The Rangers *never* quit! One of the things I love about those guys.

This kind of baseball is sure good for the ratings.

Nice comback by them Rangers….you’re right Joe, they don’t quit. Not sure about the ratings dar, with all these late football games, but if you’re a baseball fan, who cares. :)

Neither of the two “superstars” Josh Hamilton or Albert Pujols have a hit in the series, but I think this will change.

Did it ever. Albert Pujols put his natural talent on display.

He is simply one of the best that ever played.

With all the great college games today and tonight, its a wonder any one remembers we’ve got a World Series to decide.

Yes. Give me Pujols and the Cards over college football.

This series shifts to Arlington Texas with the Rangers feeling pretty good about getting home with come from behind win Thursday night in St. Louis.

Had the bullpen not blown this game, Cardinals would be up 3-0.

Now to win it, Rangers will have to go back to St. Louis.

That’s where The House that Pujols Built sits.

I had to work last night and I have to work today as well but GO CARDS!
