Maxine Waters: Government should extort banks to make mortgages affordable

For a sitting member of Congress, Maxine Waters seems to have a less-than-complete understanding about the role and limits of the federal government. As an example, at a recent townhall in Los Angeles, she told an audience that the government needs to take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that homeowners continue to be able to make their mortgage payments. Those steps includes extortion.
The president, she said, should use his bully pulpit to
bring the gangsters in, put them around the table, and let them know that if they don’t come up with loan modifications and keep people in their homes, that they’ve worked so hard for, we’re gonna tax them out of business. [Emphasis added]
To her credit, at least she didn’t recommend breaking their legs!
One is tempted to note that Waters is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for using her influence to secure $12 million in TARP funds for OneUnited Bank, which was not only a major contributor to her campaign but on whose board her husband served as director. Then again, as Waters would be the first to tell you, OneUnited, which is minority-owned, is not one of the “gangsters.”

Silliness aside, isn’t Gov’t extortion of banks to loan to unqualified buyers the entire reason behind the housing crash a few years ago in the first place? Waters is not smart, that’s the best I can do.

This policy of *MAKING* the banks give loans to people that can’t afford them is the root cause of the housing bubble and in turn the financial crisis and start of all this economic mess over the last 3 1/2 years. And yet she persists with pushing the exact same failed policies that harm the country. And yet the American people, or at least the people in her district have no clue.

Waters is a real hard case. She’s a true believer in her victim status. This gives her special rights to steal and not feel badly — because deep down she deserves it. The members of the CBC (except for West, of course), most of the Democratic Party leadership, and Obama, are agitators.
Agitators prey on the worst instincts in humanity. First they convince the masses that whatever problems they have aren’t their fault, that they can’t advance because they are oppressed. Then they give them a target to hate and tell them who to support. It’s a wonderful strategy: it isolates the followers from the rest of society, it saps their strength by making them feel hopeless, it makes them dependent on those who claim to “fight” for them, and all failure is another sign of their victimhood.

What’s that definition of ‘insanity’ again?
Y’know, every time I think to myself “this is a really, really stupid person” (and Maxine Waters finds her way onto that list far too often) I have to remember that this idiot managed to get herself a lifetime ticket on the Great Federal Gravy Train.
So, she’s not mentally deficient. She just believes, to the core of her existence, in some really evil and destructive ideas.

Maxine Waters is a socialist. Nationalizing business and industry is her goal. If she cannot do this, she will attempt to bully them into submission. That said, this is just red meat for the constituency of the CBC. There is zero chance of getting Boehner and the majority party to go along with her socialist agenda.

Maxine Waters is by far the least intelligent member of congress. She is ignorant. She is uninformed. She is without a doubt, an absolute bigot. And she is also, without a doubt, a socialist. Her entire career is based upon nothing more than “finding out who her constituents should be angry at for their plight,” then screaming and ranting against that particuar strawman. Unfortunately, it works. This buffoon continues to get elected, and it’s just pathetic, because nothing ever changes for her “people.” Nothing. They’re still poor. They’re still ignorant. And worst of all……they still think the reason they’re in the situation they’re in, is someone elses fault. And this worthless american, this vile, racist, pig of a citizen, Maxine Waters, is all too content to keep playing this game. This is who they are. Sad. Sad, disgusting, and pathetic.
The end of leftist political theory is fast coming to an end in this country. Math always wins. Always.
