Obama’s Uncle Busted for DUI, in Country Illegally

Apparently Jeremiah Wright was not Barack Obama’s only “crazy uncle.” That characterization, which candidate Obama used to deflect criticism of his preacher by dismissing the man’s anti-American screed as “zany antics,” might also apply to Obama’s real uncle, Obama Onyango.

Uncle Omar, as he is better known among family members, was pulled over last Wednesday by Framingham, Massachusetts police, after he nearly collided with the police cruiser.

Officer Val Krishtal told the Boston Herald that a white Mitsubishi SUV swerved in front of him at a stop sign, causing him to slam on his brakes. The driver, identified as 67-year-old Obama Onyango, had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. When Krishtal smelled alcohol emanating from the car, he administered a Breathalyzer, revealing that Onyango was significantly impaired.

“It was clear that he was moderately unsteady on his feet,” Krishtal said, adding that he was “slurring” his speech and had “red and glassy eyes.”

If the story ended there, it would hardly be worth commenting on. However, after he was arrested for DUI, authorities learned that Onyango was in the country illegally and that an order had been issued for his deportation back to his native Kenya.

He evidently obtained a legitimate driver’s license by presenting a valid Social Security number. How he came to have that number is now under investigation.

Onyango’s attorney, Margaret Wong, is a specialist in immigration law. She represented the president’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, in her battle to win asylum last year.

The Herald reached out to Aunt Zeituni for comment on her brother’s arrest. The reported response was, “Why don’t you go to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., and ask your president? Not me,” whereupon she hung up the phone.

Onyango, meantime, was arraigned in Framingham District Court on Thursday and is being held without bail on a federal immigration warrant.

Illegal alien uncle reportedly works as a liquor store clerk. Wonder how he is able to afford a private immigration attorney?

IIRC, illegal alien auntie Z, after ignoring deportation orders for years (apparently this disregard for U.S. law runs strong in the Obama family), was granted asylum on the grounds that she’d be in danger if she returned to Kenya, because of her kinship with the U.S. president.

Here’s my question: if everybody named Obama is in danger in Kenya, then how is it that so many other members of the Obama family manage to live in Kenya unmolested?

Here’s another question: if kinship with the U.S. president makes life in Kenya so dangerous for the Obama relatives, then won’t we eventually have to grant them all asylum in the U.S.?

Here’s my final question: does anyone else think that this situation proves, yet again, the wisdom of the Founders in requiring that a U.S. president be a “natural born citizen” (i.e., a U.S. citizen born to two U.S. citizen parents)?

I’m sure Barack will use some of those “hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional income that I don’t need” to support these stray family members who keep popping up in the US. Or better yet, why not build them a nice family compound back in Kenya? Gotta be relatively cheaper than Massachusetts.
