Hot Air Approval Survey Results: July

posted at 12:51 pm on July 20, 2011 by

The Approval results are in. Leading the pack when Presidential supporters are removed is Paul Ryan, followed by Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, John Bolton and Herman Cain.

In the Presidential vote, Sarah Palin remains on top, followed by Rick Perry who has strengthened, Michele Bachmann who has weakened, and Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, who round out the top 5.

Full results follow. Questions? Tweet me.

Wow, 5th consecutive survey with Palin gaining support; now at an all-time high.

This despite the fact that she has been nearly invisible in media for the past month.

Wow, just wow.

Good information. Thanks for the work of putting these polls out.

However, I can’t help notice that there is almost no analysis of the results offered.

Hmmmm…

That is very intriguing. To read the blogs here, you’d get the impression that opinions are pretty much in line with what the traditional public polls are reporting, yet this ‘internal poll’ shows totally different results…

Certainly looks like a Palin/Perry or Perry/Palin ticket would appeal to a lot of people…

OnlyOrange on July 20, 2011 at 1:13 PM

Perry would make a good VP.

darwin on July 20, 2011 at 1:23 PM

Patrick, I just posted on another thread asking if the results were in. You must have posted this not too long ago. Thanks, I love these polls and it comes out about the same way I vote as others here at HA vote also. Palin/Perry would be great. Guess we will have to see if both get into the mix.

Ryan gets a lot of suppor here. A pleasant surprise!

looks like Palin’s negatives are decreasing and Bachmann’s are increasing.

People respect fighters. not a major fan of Ryan for POTUS but i do respect his fearlessness and his desire to take on Obama and put forward plans. I would love to see Ryan get more leadership authority within the house. a speaker Ryan would be great.

Total respondants who are self-described “Liberals”: 28
Total respondants who voted for Huntsman: 31

LOL

I’m surprised at the massive fall off of Bachmann’s support in the head to head match up. Last month wasn’t it closer to 50/50?

unseen on July 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM

I wonder what is behind that big black block in the charts… It could be an easter egg!!!

astonerii on July 20, 2011 at 2:04 PM

Thanks Patrick. With all the polls you’ve run to date and their variations, it’ll be a humdinger to come up with an analysis to summarize them. I think the HA Poll to watch will be immediately after the Ames Strawpoll and see what effect it had on those that typically respond to the HA Poll.

If you ask me, that’ll be the time to also run the overlay maps again, breaking out the locations of the supporters.

Thanks again.

There is a box with a question mark in the center of empty Area. When I clicked on it, I got all the data. I’m on an iPad, it might look different on a computer screen.

P.S. Go Sarah!!!

idesign on July 20, 2011 at 2:36 PM

I wonder if Ryan’s approval is afunction of him not being seen as a possible POTUs candidate since out of all those polled he is the only one that has said he isn’t running. would that make people that have other candidates like him more since he isn’t seen as a threat to their candidate?

Ah, so that’s what the empty black box is in the middle of the post in my computer screen.

Anyway, I was just needling Patrick a bit after the last survey results, which Palin also led but his narrative about Palin being in “major danger” of being eclipsed seemed to generate quite a response.

Then, she leads again in July and suddenly the post gives the results but almost no narrative or comments.

Interesting…

WTF is up with people’s hatred of Thad McCotter?
